Mackay Rowing Club has been travelling well. An active master’s contingent is on the water regularly and, thanks to a grant, the club was able to buy a much-needed new mower. Growth in school rowing is needed, but a small group of school-age rowers has been participating in school and club regattas. The club ran a very successful Corporate Challenge, with good support from local businesses. In fact, clubs across the northern region ran a variety of expo stalls, come and try events, and learn to row courses during the year. Keep an eye out for the resulting new rowers at future regattas!
