We feel this is crucial; we won't sell out our customers or ourselves for $20. We proudly use both Wilson Arms and Mike Rock Premium barrel blanks. Our blanks are then sent to a current Military Contractor with 23 years of expe- rience in the manufacturing of barrels, upper receivers, as well as numerous other components. Once a barrel blank has reached the contractor it is rifled utilizing the "Button Broach" technique and forwarded to be "Stress Relieved". These procedures have been implemented to ensure that the most stringent specifications and guidelines are being met. The same meticulous care is given throughout the Chambering and Crowning processes to promote the finest accuracy and reliability. The barrels are then finished with a Magnesium Phosphate Coating adhering to Mil-Spec guide- lines to prevent rust and corrosion. The highest measures of quality control are implemented to ensure no variance from barrel to barrel, or lot to lot. The same contractor also manufactures our upper receivers, utilizing the same stringent guidelines to meet or exceed current Military Specifications. Our receivers are Hard Coat Black Anodized as per Mil-Spec. In conclusion, all dimensional as well as assembling requirements are verified before each upper receiver is both function tested and test fired. All are then cleaned and oiled for preservation, and individually packaged. M&A Parts, Inc. is committed to excellence.     “ASSAULT WEAPON” BANS: UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAWS FOR A MADE-UP CATEGORY OF FIREARMS MARK W. SMITH* I’m especially excited to talk about whether commonly owned semiautomatic rifles, which happen to have a handful of incidental features built in or attached to them, are protected by the Second Amendment. Spoiler alert: the answer is yes. Ordinary semiautomatic rifles, just like ordinary semiautomatic handguns, are protected by the Second Amendment’s right to keep and bear arms. The U.S. Supreme Court’s legal precedents confirm the same. These constitutional protections do not dis- appear merely because the anti-gun lobby chooses to label—or perhaps, more accurately, mislabel—these ordinary firearms as “assault weapons.” Indeed, as Justice Thomas astutely recog- nized, the term “assault weapon” is “a political term, devel- oped by anti-gun publicists.”1 To make sure we’re all on the same page about what is a supposed “assault weapon,” I’d like to start with a key point: America’s gun grabbers do not define “assault weapons” by how the firearms actually function. W. Urwin, Department of History i ABSTRACT Museums have always had and displayed weapons, including firearms. As museums have evolved, so too has exhibit design and practice. However, many weapons displays have not kept up with changing practices, and many of them are now irrelevant, have limited audiences, or are unhelpful to the broader public. Simply displaying weapons by type or as art is not enough anymore, and keeping them in storage does not take advantage of their potential. Also, many museums are increasingly trying to become places for public discourse about current issues. They often create exhibits meant to be relevant to today and promote discussions about controversial topics. Many museums are also trying to make their collections and objects more accessible to the public. Innovative displays of firearms could help them accomplish both these tasks. The battle over gun control and gun rights is often more of a shouting match than reasoned discourse. Museums could use historic firearms as an opportunity to help facilitate a more responsible conversation about the issue. These firearms are typically not as emotionally charged as modern guns, and could be used as a pathway into the gun debate if displayed creatively. Guns, historic or not, are often not very approachable objects for many people. This can be for a variety of reasons, including their associations with masculinity, power, and nationality.

    CONTINENTAL LINE Safety Guide to Black Powder GENERAL GUIDELINES These guidelines apply to the use of Black Powder firearms for historical demonstration purposes by Continental Line (C.L.) Member Units. "Member Units" mean an organization that is recognized by the C.L. and is officially enrolled as such, or any unit that is a guest of the C.L. "Demonstration" means the loading and firing of a black powder weapon, for the purpose of public education, under the direction of a Safety Officer. Every Member Unit is required to have a Safety Officer. This individual is thoroughly knowledgeable of the Safety Standard and Guide to Black Powder. This individual is directly responsible for the weapons and/or Artillery Piece and how they are used by the members of their own Unit. This individual is answerable to the C.L. for any compromise or violation of these Guidelines, and has signed a statement declaring such. Only two types of weapons may be fired by Member Units: muzzleloading black powder flintlocks, and full-scale muzzleloading cannons. Pistols may NOT be fired in demonstrations except by Mounted Troops with approval of the Field Commander. Edged weapons, swords, knives, tomahawks, etc. must always be considered dangerous. Except for use as a camp tool, they should never be unsheathed. The two types of weapon demonstrations permitted are; Individual Demonstrations and Tactical Demonstrations. Individual Demonstrations are demonstrations during which a single weapon is loaded and fired by a member or, in the case of a cannon, a crew of members. Tactical Demonstrations are those where two or more weapons are loaded and fired under simulated battle conditions.

Forward Pistol Grip ii Study on the Importability of Certain Shotguns Executive Summary The purpose of this study is to establish criteria that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) will use to determine the importability of certain shotguns under the provisions of the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA). The Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA) generally prohibits the importation of firearms into the United States. 1 However, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 925(d), the GCA creates four narrow categories of firearms that the Attorney General must authorize for importation. Under one such category, subsection 925(d)(3), the Attorney General shall approve applications for importation when the firearms are generally recognized as particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes (the “sporting purposes test”). After passage of the GCA in 1968, a panel was convened to provide input on the sporting suitability standards which resulted in factoring criteria for handgun importations. Then in 1989, and again in 1998, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) conducted studies to determine the sporting suitability and importability of certain firearms under section 925(d)(3).
