Equipment/Materials To be responsible for the safe use and maintenance of equipment/materials used by the post holder. Teaching resources including audio visual and computer equipment. To adhere to the Academy’s rules and regulations relating to the use of ICT, e-mail, social media and intranet/internet access. Training and Development The post holder will have a commitment in identifying and undertaking their own professional and personal development in accordance with Academy’s performance management framework. Main Duties: Teaching, Learning and Assessment: • To ensure a high quality learning experience for students which meets internal and external standards. • To assess and provide written, verbal and diagnostic feedback as required within the whole academy Teaching and Learning policy. • To carry out assessment of students as required by examination bodies, the Innovate faculty and further academy procedures. • To utilise data to set clear and challenging targets for each student that build on prior attainment. • To be familiar with the needs of the students with additional needs and plan appropriately to meet those needs • To ensure the effective deployment of classroom support • To teach students according to their educational needs, including the planning and assessment • To challenge underperformance • To prepare and update subject materials and resources • To ensure that Product Design, Engineering and other extra- curricular requirements are reflected in the learning experience The Oldham Academy North Broadway Royton Oldham, OL2 5BF of students • To maintain discipline in accordance with the Academy behaviour policy and to encourage high standards and good practise with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework • To assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students and keep accurate records as required • To maintain teaching areas in a safe and organised manner. Supporting the Academy: • Exemplify and model the academy mission, expectations and values of Trust, Endurance, Autonomy and Mastery. • Demonstrate high levels of ambition and optimism regarding what the academy and its students will achieve. • To work with parents and carers in line with the E-ACT Code of Conduct. • To participate in relevant Continued Professional Development under the direction of the Learning Leader for Innovate • To support the personal development of students through the role of a form tutor. • To carry out any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Headteacher. N.B. The job description will be kept under review and may be amended in negotiation with the post holder.
