Bottom cover 5. Microphone Bottom cover Removing the bottom cover Remove the bottom cover to access the battery, SIM card slot, and storage card slot. 1. Turn off HTC Hero S and hold it securely with the front facing down. 2. With your right and left thumbs, push the bottom cover out to remove it. 11 Getting started Replacing the bottom cover 1. Slide the bottom cover onto the exposed area of your phone’s back panel. 2. Push the bottom cover towards the phone. You’ll hear a click when the bottom cover is locked in place. Your phone’s antenna is placed underneath the bottom cover. We recommend that you secure the bottom cover to the phone’s back panel to get the best radio reception for your phone. Battery compartment door Opening the battery compartment door Open the battery compartment door by flipping it open from the right side. Closing the battery compartment door 1. Flip the battery compartment door back into place to close it. 2. Gently push the compartment door down until it clicks into place to lock it. 12 Getting started Storage card Use the storage card to store your photos, videos, and music. You’ll find the storage card already inserted in HTC Hero S. Removing the storage card If your phone is on you must first "unmount" the storage card before removing it to prevent corrupting or damaging the files in the storage card. 1. Take the bottom cover off. 2. Slide the storage card out from its slot. Inserting the storage card 1. Take the bottom cover off. 2. How long the battery can last before it needs recharging depends on how you use HTC Hero S. Also, consider your location: poor signal strength from your mobile network and extreme temperature make the battery work harder.
