Secondary Languages Support for schools 2019/20 Year-round advice, support and training to meet all your school’s languages needs Herts for Learning Languages advisers provide highly regarded training and consultancy services to help schools and academies improve outcomes for students. Working alongside subject leaders, teachers and students in schools and academies in Hertfordshire and beyond, they provide personalised support to meet their needs throughout KS3 - 5. Our range of languages support for 2019/20 includes a programme of high quality training, events and workshop opportunities, as well as a range of bespoke consultancy packages and services. We can provide bespoke training and support to meet departmental needs and school contexts on request. Occasional Day ‐ School Closed Awards were also given to Alex Gale (Year 13) for his excellent speech 27th November‐11th December to parents during our recent Open Evening, and Lauren Sloane (Year PPE Exams 11) for cycling 75 miles from London to Brighton in a me of 10 hours non‐stop. Lauren raised £150 for The Brish Heart Foundaon charity. Thursday 29th November ACHIEVEMENT AWARD DofE Award Session 3.30‐5pm Luke Starkey in 8RS has received an achievement award for his Tuesday 4th December outstanding work on The Priory School's allotment. Parents’ Informaon Evening ‘Drugs & Luke has developed excellent gardening skills and, with the rest of the Alcohol Guidance’ at 6.30pm, Main Allotment Club, has been successfully growing his own fruit and School Hall vegetables over the past year. He is also a member of the aer school Thursday 6th December cooking club, which uses all the harvest grown. His pumpkin cupcakes were awesome! DofE Award Session 3.30‐5pm Luke received his award from the Hitchin Allotment Associaon, Thursday 13th December picking up a prize including some lovely hand tools, seeds and Christmas Concert at 7pm, Main chocolate. -

Strategy and Development Welwyn Hatfield Sport Facility Study March 2011 FFFOOORRREEEWWWOOORRRDDD Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is only one of the many organisations and groups who provide specialist facilities for sport within the borough. However, we have a special responsibility to bring together all of those involved, to develop an understanding of the network of sporting facilities that already exist and to consider the needs of Welwyn Hatfield citizens of today and in the future so that we can continue to efficiently work together to meet these needs. The attractive environment both within and around the Borough as well as its convenient location will result in continued pressure to increase the number of homes in the area. It is important to ensure that these new residents enjoy access to sports facilities. It is also essential that the increased demand does not reduce the ability of existing residents to take part in sport or physical activity as we recognise that this has a very beneficial impact on their health and quality of life. This Study has, therefore, been carried out in order to assess the quality and quantity need for additional facilities of Welwyn Hatfield. An important component of this work has been the securing of the views of many key stakeholders within the local community. In this difficult economic climate it is more important than ever to co-ordinate any investment in Sports Facilities in order to ensure that the limited funding that is available for these facilities is invested wisely, against a programme of recognised need and to ensure that the facilities that exist are sustainable.
