These college students and many more were instrumental in propelling the Civil Rights movement forward, however, most of us don’t know their names, let alone their powerful stories. Join us as we celebrate these history makers in a library display that will highlight their groundbreaking achievements. Come into the library and head down the hall to the left to check it out from January 7-31. I AM A MAN Experience, I AM A MAN, a virtual reality (VR) experience by Derek Ham of the historic events of the African-American Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Brown Trickey, a lifelong activist, is the recipient of numerous awards including the NAACP Spingarn Medal and the Congressional Gold Medal, the nation’s highest civilian award.
