    Boletín de la SAE Nº 19 (2012): 43-74 ISSN: 1578-1666 ISSN: 2254-8777 Consideraciones sobre la diversidad cromática de la familia Zygaenidae Latreille, 1809 (Insecta: Lepidoptera) Fidel FERNÁNDEZ-RUBIO1 1 Paseo de la Castellana, 138, 3º-28046 MADRID [email protected] RESUMEN: El trabajo muestra una breve descripción actualizada sobre la taxonomía y filogenia de la familia Zygaenidae, señalando la capacidad de sus especies de sintetizar cianoglucósidos y destacando la transcendencia de este hecho en la aparición de colores aposemáticos, en todos los géneros de Zygaeninae, donde sus especies forman un mimetismo de Müller, con los consecuentes resultados defensivos frente a los depredadores. Se destaca la influencia de la altitud y temperatura ambiental en la intensidad cromática de las formas locales de sus especies. Se señala la presencia de esta coloración defensiva en las especies del único género Paleártico de Chacosiinae (Aglaope), a diferencia de la coloración críptica, de camuflaje, en todas las especies Paleárticas de Procridinae, donde la formación de cianoglucósidos es muy baja o no está comprobada. Se acompañan varios anexos: una lista revisada de todos los géneros, subgéneros y especies de Zyganoidea que colonizan la Península Ibérica (anexo 1), la etimología de los nombre de las especies citadas (anexo 2) y un glosario de los términos poco usuales (anexo 3).     LES PEUPLEMENTS DES COLÉOPTÈRES DU MARAIS SALÉ DE L’embouCHURE DE LA TAFNA (ALGÉRIE) Samira BOUKLI HACENE 1, Karima HASSAINE 1 & Philippe PONEL 2 SUMMARY. — Coleopteran communities of the salt marsh at the mouth of the Tafna River (Algeria). — A study of Coleopteran communities was conducted between October 2009 and September 2010 in the salt marsh at the mouth of the Tafna River. Bimonthly trappings were carried out in five groups of vegetation and yielded 3833 specimens belonging to 140 species. This richness varies from one group to another (19 to 87 species). The high values are directly related to a shorter period of submersion, a lower salinity but also a greater floristic richness. Diversity indicators show that communities are diversified, regular and well structured with the exception of the samples from the lowest points where the highest salt concentrations are recorded. The highest richness and abundance are recorded mainly between early spring and early summer. Community composition is very different from one group to another ; the similarity index does not exceed 40 %. The spatial micro-distribution of grouping floristic species has been demonstrated through an ascend- ing hierarchical analysis. RÉSUMÉ. — Une étude des peuplements des Coléoptères a été réalisée entre octobre 2009 et septembre 2010 dans le marais salé de l’embouchure de la Tafna. Des piégeages bimensuels effectués dans cinq grou- pements de végétation ont fourni 3833 spécimens répartis en 140 espèces. Cette richesse spécifique varie d’un groupement à un autre (de 19 à 87 espèces). Les richesses élevées sont en relation directe avec une période de submersion moins longue, un taux de salinité moins élevé mais également une richesse floristi- que plus importante.

This paper reports the collecting of adult beetles and third-instar larvae of Coelocorynus desfontainei Antoine, 1999 in Cameroon and provides new data on the biology of this high-altitude Afromontane genus. It also presents the first diagnosis of this genus based on larval characters and examination of its systematic position in a phylogenetic context using 78 parsimony informa- tive larval and adult characters. Based on the results of our analysis we (1) support the hypothesis that the tribe Trichiini is paraphy- letic with respect to both Valgini and the rest of the Cetoniinae, and (2) propose that the Trichiini subtribe Cryptodontina, represented by Coelocorynus, is a sister group of the Valgini: Valgina, represented by Valgus. The larvae-only analyses were about twofold better than the adults-only analyses in providing a phylogenetic resolution consistent with the larvae + adults analyses.

Hier liegt ein rei- cher Fundus an Beobachtungen zur Biologie, Ökologie und Verbreitung der einzelnen Formen vor, der eine Betrachtung unter dem Blickwinkel des biologischen Artbegriffes geradezu herausfordert. Die häufig geübte Praxis, geringfügige habituelle und morphologische - gelegentlich auch ökologische - Differenzierungen als Kriterium artlicher Verschiedenheit zu werten, belastet die lepidopterologische Literatur erheblich und hat - wie ein Blick in neuere Handbücher belegt (Forster & Wohlfahrt, 1954-1981, H1GGINS& RiLEY, 1978) zu einer Inflation von Art- und Unterart- sowie -mutatis mutandis - Gattungsnamen geführt. Received January 11, 2018; Revised March 21, 2018; Accepted April 6, 2018 Abstract Flower chafers (Cetoniinae) were collected from several habitats in the Palestinian Territories (West Bank) during several field trips conducted by the team at the Palestine Museum of Natural History. Nine species in four genera (Aethiessa mesopotamica, Protaetia cuprea ignicollis, Protaetia funebris, Protaetia judith, Protaetia subpilosa, Oxythyrea cinctella, Oxythyrea noemi, Tropinota hirta suturalis, and Tropinota squalida pilosa) were recorded. This study records additional localities of flower chafers in the Palestinian Territories.

In the East the snowfalls have been the heaviest ever known and the cold waves have reached deep into the southern states. The Southwest has continued one of the most terrible droughts it has known, but recent rain re­ lieved it somewhat. Thus the main Lepidoptera collecting season ror 1948 is rapidly approach­ ing and has in fact begun in Florida and the Southwest. The erfects of this winter on Lepid­ optera will be particularly interesting. This seems a propitious time to discuss the Soci­ ety's Summary of the 1948 Season in North America which will be published at the end of the year as a NEWS supplement. In order to make this and future Season Summaries wholly success­ ful it will be necessary for several members in each of the eight areas to keep careful rec­ ords of their local Lepidoptera throughout the season. Many members have already kept a rec­ ord book for enough years to generalize accurately on comparative conditions as each new sea­ son proceeds. G.Platia: 7-42 Abstract: The Agriotes Eschscholtz and Ectinus Eschscholtz of China are revised, with the descriptions, respectively, of 26 and 18 new species. Rainerus, gen. n. with 12 species (11 new), is separated from Ectinus Eschscholtz on the basis of morphological characters and particularly the shape of the sclerotic plates of the bursa copulatrix; it also includes two species from Taiwan, one from Myanmar and a new one from Laos. Tinecus Fleutiaux, described with four species from Vietnam, is recorded from China for the first time, with a new species; a further 3 new species are described from Myanmar, Thailand and Laos.
