January The 2015 Volume 43 Number 1

Bowie Baptist Association 903-792-0641

In this month’s Year End Ramblings! FOCUS So much to say… so little space to say it. That’s how it goes  Administrative Committee sometimes. With this in mind, please indulge these end of year Meeting

ramblings.  Executive Board Meeting

 Lottie Moon Christmas First, I’d like to thank those of you who participated in the BBA Offering Partnership Celebration. Pastor Joel St Cyr hit the ball out of  Church Ethics Summit the park, didn’t he? Special appreciation is extended to the  Disaster Relief Training members and staff of First Baptist Church of Nash for hosting, and to you who sponsored booths or led breakout sessions.  Hot Hearts 2015  Ministry Training Class Second, with all of your Christmas and year-end activities, don't lose sight of two Schedule events just around the corner. The Southern Baptist of Texas Convention will con-  Churches Seeking Staff duct regional Disaster Relief training at Myrtle Springs on Saturday, January 10th. Check out the notice in this FOCUS. Though you may train for any area in which you have an interest, with the new feeding unit based at FBC Redwater we have a

special need for feeding unit volunteers.

And registration is currently open for Hot Hearts. There is still time to make your plans for this local youth evangelism conference.

Third, I’d like to thank my pastor, Michael Hardaway, for his excellent service as

BBA moderator these past two years. Bro. Michael thinks his work is winding

down as Bro. Todd Reed assumes the gavel. Little does he know … .

Fourth, your BBA staff and ministry teams are available to assist you with a varie- ty of ministry needs. Whether you seek to strengthen discipleship or evangelism,

develop leaders, or overcome ministry challenges, your partners can help. BBA exists to help your church. Call or e-mail to set up your consultation.

Finally, on behalf of your BBA staff I wish you all a most merry Christmas and

wonderful New Year. The Lord whose birth we celebrate has placed us in this mis- sion field to elevate His name that others may know Him as we do. To this end I

look forward to serving you and to serving beside you in 2015.

Blessings! Bro. Jim
