‘CHECK INN TO CHRISTMAS’ Cast Bios RACHEL BOSTON (Julia) – Born and raised on Signal Mountain, Tennessee, Rachel Boston got her start performing in church musicals. At 17, she moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. Boston received a scholarship to study at New York University and later moved to Los Angeles to begin filming NBC’s Award-winning television series “American Dreams.” Most recently, Boston filmed an episode of Showtime’s “Kidding” with Jim Carrey and Judy Greer and starred in and executive produced “The Last Bridesmaid,” which premiered this June on Hallmark Channel. She also starred in the indie comedy I Hate Kids along with Tom Everett Scott and Titus Burgess. The film opened in theaters January 18, 2019. She also guest starred on ABC’s "The Good Doctor" as Antonia Thomas’s college best friend in a fight to save her life. Boston starred alongside Julia Ormond and Jenna Dewan-Tatum in the series “Witches of East End.” She was named one of TV Line’s “15 Fresh Faces of Fall” and TV Guide included her work as Ingrid Beauchamp on the “hot list” honoring the year's best characters and shows. For her starring role as Mindy in the independent feature The Pill, Boston was honored with the Stargazer Award for the most talented emerging actress at the Gen Art Film Festival in New York City, the Best Actress Award from the San Diego Film Festival and the Emerging Artist Award from the Big Apple Film Festival. Filmed in Manhattan, The Pill also took home the Gen Art Film Festival Audience Award. Boston appeared with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel in the Golden Globe® nominated film 500 Days of Summer which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. She co- starred alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner in the romantic comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Boston executive produced and starred in several original television movies – “Christmas in Angel Falls” alongside Beau Bridges, “A Rose for Christmas,” “Stop the Wedding,” “A Ring by Spring” and “A Gift of Miracles” with Rita Moreno. She also executive produced and starred in the indie feature Black Marigolds, which reunited her with Noah Bean, her co-star from The Pill. Previously, Boston starred on the USA series “In Plain Sight” and in the CBS comedy series “The Ex List.” Some of her guest-starring appearances include “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “ER,” “NCIS,” and “Rules of Engagement.” Boston began her career in television on NBC's “American Dreams,” playing Beth Mason, the strong-willed girlfriend to J.J. Pryor (Will Estes). Set in the 1960s, Beth brought a wave of female independence and a voice of modern- day opinions as she laid the groundwork for ever-changing world issues, including equality for women. Rachel loves to spontaneously travel, spend time on her friend’s farm with an alpaca named Fable, and currently lives in Los Angeles. # # # WES BROWN (Ryan) – Wes Brown was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he attended Louisiana State University. Prior to graduating from LSU, Brown got his big break right in his home state, filming the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced 2006 sports drama Glory Road which shot on location in Southern Louisiana. Soon after, he relocated to Los Angeles and landed another supporting role in the Warner Bros. feature, We Are Marshall, playing actor Ian McShane’s son. Brown is perhaps best known for his role on HBO’s hit vampire series, “True Blood,” in which he played Luke, a former football player with a vengeance against vampires. Brown has also had guest-starring roles on CBS’s “CSI: Miami,” “Criminal Minds,” “NCIS,” “NCIS New Orleans” and on ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” along with recurring roles on the NBC medical drama “Trauma,” The CW’s “90210” and “Hart of Dixie,” ABC’s hit “Private Practice” and David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks.” He also portrayed Disney’s legendary Gaston on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time.” Additionally, Brown was a series regular on the Lifetime network’s “Beach Girls,” starring Rob Lowe, as well as on NBC’s “Deception.” A favorite of Hallmark Channel fans, Brown has starred in the Hallmark Channel Original Movies “June in January,” “Love Begins,” “Love’s Resounding Courage,” “Shadow on The Mesa,” “Love Under the Stars” and “Christmas Cookies.” Most recently, he starred in Hallmark Channel’s “Over the Moon in Love” which premiered in October, last year’s holiday movie hit “Christmas at Graceland” and in “Wedding at Graceland,” as part of the network’s annual “June Weddings” programming event. # # # RICHARD KARN (Tim) – Richard Karn is well known to television audiences for his extraordinary eight seasons performing as Al Borland opposite Tim Allen on “Home Improvement.” He currently recurs on the Hulu hit comedy “Pen15” and will return in their upcoming second season. A diverse entertainer, Karn performed for four seasons as host of the iconic game show “Family Feud” and has worked extensively in theatre, film and television. His many notable film and television performances include “Last Man Standing,” Air Bud, Snow Buddies, Desperately Seeking Susan and “That 70s Show,” among others. Other credits include “A Daughter’s Nightmare” for Lifetime, “Detroiters” for Comedy Central, as well as independent films Amanda and the Fox, F*&% the Prom, The Horse Dancer, and Gordon Family Tree. Karn has performed on Broadway in Me and My Girl and starred in the title role in Larry Shue’s The Foreigner. Other New York Theater includes Losing It and The Other Shore. Previous starring roles include Shear Madness (The New Theater, Kansas City) I Ought to be in Pictures (Alhambra), Aladdin and His Winter Wish (Pasadena Playhouse), 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (The New Theater, Kansas City) and Game Show (Stage West).
