Presents With Featured Speakers Tommy Lasorda And Bill Buckner Island Grove Park Greeley, Colorado January 31, 2009 FEATURED SPEAKER – Tommy Lasorda Signed with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1945. Played with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1954, 1955 and the Kansas City Athletics in 1956. During Tommy’s tenure as a manager he won two World Series (1981 & 88), was twice National League Manager of the Year (1983 and 88), won the Branch Rickey Award in 2006, won a total of 1,599 games and had his #2 retired by the Los Angeles Dodgers . Tommy was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997. GUEST SPEAKER – Bill Buckner Played professionally with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, California Angels, and Kansas City Royals. His playing career lasted over twenty years and during that time he had a batting average of .289, had 2,715 hits, accumulated 1,208 Runs Batted In. Bill was voted in as an All Star in 1981 and led the National League with a batting average of .324 in 1980 while with the Chicago Cubs. SPECIAL GUEST – Warren Brusstar Warren broke into Major League Baseball in 1977 with the Philadelphia Phillies winning seven games posting an ERA of 2.65. Warren later played for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs. Warren had a ten year career in Major League Baseball posting a lifetime ERA of 3.51.
