Designed to expand your knowledge and expertise in law, the ANU Master of Laws (LLM) is a globally recognised advanced law degree. This is achieved through the ‘create your own degree’ structure of our LLM, which allows you to tailor your study to your career objectives by selecting from over 80 different courses covering a diverse range of legal areas and topics. Providing specialised knowledge on the application of law, the ANU Master of Legal Practice is an advanced, practise-based qualification.

The Master of Legal Practice (MLP) is highly regarded amongst employers because it instils a higher understanding of law and requires intellectual perseverance and application. As with the ANU GDLP, the ANU MLP meets the requirements of the Australian Law Admissions Consultative Committee, and equips you with the practical insight and professional understanding needed to be admitted as a lawyer in Australia. Doctor of Juridical Science in Law A research doctorate that combines research with Masters- level coursework, the Doctor of Juridical Science requires you to complete 4 approved postgraduate courses and submit a thesis of 65,000 words.

Doctor of Philosophy in Law Offered to students seeking an opportunity to engage in high-quality, independent research, the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) requires submission of a thesis that makes a substantial contribution to learning in the field of law.
