This task force was originally named KIP-HAM in 1996. As a commission whose work was to monitor Human Rights issues, KIP-HAM received many reports and inputs from the community, both victims’ community and others who dared to express their aspiration regarding human rights issues that took place in their regions. In the beginning, KIP-HAM only received reports through phone communication but the public gradually grew brave in delivering their reports directly to KIP-HAM secretariat. In several meetings with victims’ community, there was an idea to form an entity that deals specifically with cases of forced disappearances as a response to continuous violent practices that had claimed many victims. The idea was thrown in by one of the victims’ mothers named Ibu Tuti Koto. It was finally agreed that a commission would be established to deal with cases of disappearances and victims of violence under the name of Kontras. -

Subgrade is an important part of road construction. Construction built on fine-grained subgrade such as clay is very susceptible to damage. The purpose of this study was to determine the CBR value with and without geotextile reinforcement as well as to know the effect of geotextile placement on CBR value. Soil material samples was from Kolaka Village, Mori Atas District, North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province and the geotextile material used was the Woven UW-150 type. Geotextile used for CBR testing was 2 reinforcement sheets with 6 variations of geotextile placement that are successively on each space 1 and 2, 1 and 3, 1 and 4, 2 and 3, 2 and 4 and 3 and 4. The distance between spaces was 3 cm. According to the Unified Classification System, soil samples were included in the CH group (non-organic clays with high plasticity, fat clays), and according to AASTHO was classified in the A-7-5 (53) group, that is clay. Compaction test resulted an optimum water content of 20.80% and maximum dry density of 1.54 gr/cm3. Laboratory CBR values without reinforcement at soaked and unsoaked conditions were respectively 4.61% and 9.68%. The farther the distance between reinforcement as well as the farther the reinforcement distance to the ground surface, the greater the CBR value gained. -

The study adopts a spatial analysis approach, in addition to a general analysis of urban forest space requirements using the Malthus exponential method. From this analysis the value 8.90 m2/people set was obtained and subsequently, used as a reference for determining the area of urban forest space. From the value of this constant, a projection model for exponential growth in urban forest spaces in the urban area of Kolonodale (a small city with ퟎ.ퟎퟐퟑퟐ풕 a population of ≤ 20,000 inhabitants) in the next 20 years: Yuf to-t = 9.7799풆 Keywords: Urban forest, Demography, Site description, Malthus exponential, Small town. 1. Introduction The population in urban areas is more than in rural areas. As well the physical development in these areas is faster. As a result, the balance of ecosystems will be affected in urban areas with a consequent increase of air temperature, air pollution, decrease of the groundwater and surface soil, flooding, seawater instruction, increase of the content of heavy metals in groundwater and others. With the aim to maintain the balance of the ecosystem, influenced by an increase in population and physical development in urban areas, is necessary to provide green open space (GOS). -

Regional Original Revenue will bring its own implications for an area with limited natural resource potential and it will be a challenge in itself in an effort to maximize the potential possessed by the region. The type of data used in this study, namely the type of quantitative data in Contribution. the form of periodic data. This study shows that the contribution of tourism revenue to Morowali Regency's Original Revenue is very small. Revenue from the tourism sector from 2014 to 2018 shows that the income of the tourism sector in Morowali Regency is inefficient and ineffective due to lack of income. The purpose of this research is to make a pilot in the tourism sector, so that planning and coordination of the contribution of the tourism sector in an effort to increase income continues. -

TABOO IN THE BAJAU TOROSIAJE TRIBE SOCIETY, POHUWATO DISTRICT, GORONTALO PROVINCE Nur Aina Ahmad IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo Eka Sartika Universitas Negeri Gorontalo ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the taboo concepts that are still valid as a legacy of customs, traditions, and culture of the Bajau people in Torosiaje Village, Pohuwato Regency, and their application in everyday life. In this study, the taboo is any form of prohibition in the form of actions or words used as the cultural heritage of the Bajau Torosiaje people from generation to generation. This study is expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions as sources of information and reference, especially regarding the Bajau people’s traditions. The deeds taboo, which is still preserved as a legacy of tradition and culture in the Bajau Torosiaje community, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province, is the community’s social and moral control in their daily behavior. These prohibitions govern all contexts of community life from birth to death. These taboos can be in the form of prohibitions that must be avoided by a pregnant woman or restrictions that fishers must obey while at sea. It is quite reasonable, considering the Bajau Torosiaje community’s activities, which cannot be separated from the sea as a place to live and as a source of livelihood. Language or speech taboo includes all prohibitions aimed at controlling the use of diction or words, which, if violated, are believed by the Bajau Torosiaje people to bring harm. The language taboo in the Bajau Torosiaje community can be the prohibition of mentioning individual animals’ names or mentioning the names of demons and spirits. -

JRC Emergency Reporting - Activation #021 - UPDATE #1 - 01 Oct 2018 EUROPEAN COMMISSION JOINT RESEARCH CENTRE 01 Oct 2018 17:00 UTC Mw 7.5 Earthquake in Indonesia, 28 Sep 2018 GDACS Earthquake RED Alert, GDACS Tsunami ORANGE Alert 01 Oct 2018 - Emergency Report - UPDATE #1 Figure 1 - Location of the Mw 7.5 Earthquake event and the other 6 earthquakes in Indonesia, with the overall shakemap of all the earthquakes. 1 Executive Summary ● As a result of the strong 7.5 Mw earthquake that hit the island of Sulawesi (Sulawesi Tengah province/Central Sulawesi, Indonesia) on 28 Sep at 10:02 UTC at a depth of 10 km, and the consequent Tsunami that was generated, the humanitarian situation appears severe. ● The fatalities balance continues to increase; at the time of writing the death toll reached 844 in Donggala, Palu, Parigi Moutong, Sigi; 90 people are missing but search and rescue operations JRC Emergency Reporting - Activation #021 - UPDATE #1 - 01 Oct 2018 are still ongoing. Some of the remote villages have not yet been reached and therefore the balance could become worst. ● Several discussions are ongoing in the International Community on the Tsunami Early Warning System that either did not work or was however unable to save lives. BMKG provided details on the system working conditions but some of the choices still need some clarification. ● There is not yet a clear general overview of the Tsunami impact occurred in the area; two cities are largely mentioned in the media (Palu and Donggala) but a clear extended mapping is still ongoing. Copernicus and International Charter have been activated and are providing important information on this point. -

The purpose of this research is to understand and explain the principles of customary law concerning the natural resources that exist in the national park, and to determine the effectiveness of customary law in protecting these natural resources. The research method applied to explore community values and attitudes is socio-legal. The research revealed society's habits through exploration, and norms and the rule of law are embraced. Some principles of customary law on natural resources include palia (taboo) and ombo (prohibition) pertinent to natural resource conservation. Both of these principles are adhered to and have been hereditary. The values on utilising natural resources are still complied with (effective), although state law takes a formal approach for any infringement surrounding the national park.
