Associate Degree: Certificate: • General Studies Health • Automotive Service and Repair • Humanities • Collision Repair

This fall, NCC is excited to debut four new programs to accommodate student interest and popular career pathways.

The new programs were developed to fit the needs of our diverse student population. We have a lot of students who are interested in a medical pathway, and previously our only medical pathway was nursing. Now with General Studies Health, students are able to start at the community college level for their medical pathway aspirations and move on toward higher education degrees and careers in dental hygeine, veteranary science, and any other health science related field.

Humanities is for those interested in Fine Arts, Philosophy, Global Diversity, and Culture. This program provides students with the skills employees are looking for such as critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and communication skills. Students will take a variety of English electives, and fine arts and behavioral social sciences.

The two new certificate programs are an accelerated option for those interested in learning the basics of mechanics and autobody with the Automotive Service and Repair program and Collision Repair Technology. The reduced course load still provides students with the basic knowledge of the two types of repairs and prepares them for career options. Those interested in both fields can take both programs for a broader range of career options. Program Coordinator Karl Wunderlich has a variety of relationships with autodealers and autobody shops to help connect students with local career options.

All of these programs will launch in Fall 2018! >> College & Affordability: CCSNH no longer charges application/orientation fees No more fees for application, orientation at NCC and all CCSNH institutions

New Hampshire’s Community Colleges will no longer charge an application fee! Effective April 9, 2018, applications can be submitted free of charge, in a move designed to remove a barrier for prospective students to attend college.

Previously, applicants paid a $20 fee to apply to any of NH’s seven community colleges. For those who applied to more than one community college, they paid multiple application fees. System officials believe this cost could deter prospective students from exploring the best options to meet their educational and career goals.

Applying to NH’s community colleges is also eased by the fact that students can submit an application at any time of the year, including the week before classes start for many programs. Advisors can also help students with financial aid and explore other sources of funds such as scholarships. Some programs, such as nursing and dental hygiene, do fill up well before the start of a semester.

In-state tuition at NH’s community colleges is $210 per credit, which translates in to $630 tuition for a three-credit course or approximately $6,300 tuition for two semesters of full-time study. Most associate degree programs can be competed in two years depending on the number of credits required for a particular program, or taken part-time to accommodate other obligations. NH community colleges also offer shorter certificate programs that are aligned with high-demand career fields such as Cybersecurity Networking, Aviation Technology, Massage Therapy, CNC Operator, and more!

Many fields served by community college programs are seeing steady employment demand with employers clamoring for applicants. See a full list of programs at www.collegeinthe603.com. >> Express Admissions Days at NCC this Summer

Students can register for Summer, Fall, and Spring now!

Yearlong schedule helps students organize the year from start to finish

Instead of signing up for courses one semester at a time, NCC students can now enroll in a year’s worth of classes at once. Launched in April, the yearlong schedule allows students to get an overview of the courses they need to take to complete their Associate or Certificate program, and how to distribute their course load to facilitate the best work-life balance.

Between the availability of online, summer, winter session, and two 8-week sessions every spring and fall; students have many options to choose from while building the best class schedule each year.

Structured Schedules

Contact the Academic Advising Center to ask about structured or block scheduling. Available now, each program has designed a grouped schedule of morning or afternoon classes as a suggestion for students who wish to condense the time they spend on campus. Instead of an early morning core class and an evening general education course, the structured schedules suggest ways students can optimize the time spent on campus.

Structured schedules also help condense weeks, and many schedules free up every Friday for a three day weekend.

Summer term begins Tuesday, May 29, and Fall begins August 27. Questions on how to enroll? Contact the Admissions Office at 603-578-8908 or [email protected].

The 47th Commencement Ceremony at Nashua Community College graduated 300 students Saturday, with nearly 200 taking the stage to accept their diplomas. Joining the celebration was a team of speakers from the college system and community, including Father Michael Kerper of Saint Patrick’s Church in Nashua, Class of 2018 graduate and Board of Trustee student member Hannah Croce, President Lucille Jordan, and Community College System of New Hampshire Chancellor Ross Gittell.

In the student address, Hannah Croce lauded her peers for making it to graduation, and encouraged them to make a positive impact on the world. “I not only ask you to dream but I ask you to continue to make a difference,” Croce said, adding, “I would like the class of 2018 to be remembered as the class that helped make this world a better place. When you leave today and go to another school, or go to a job, or travel the world, remember that you are an NCC graduate and because of that you will make the most of it.” Hannah, a graduate of Alvirne High School, will be continuing her studies at Northeastern in the fall.

Other Class of 2018 graduates plan to transfer to four year programs at SNHU, Granite State College, UNH Manchester and Durham, and the University of Central Florida to name a few. >> Resources for undecided students SUMMER HOURS Are your students undecided on their future careers?
