Ever since its first issue, way back in 1872, The Shetland Times has faithfully reported on island affairs and is Shetland’s longest standing weekly newspaper. Today, The Shetland Times prints and publishes much of the literature available in the islands, and these titles, along with almost every other Shetland book in print can be found in The Shetland Times Bookshop – the biggest in Shetland and better stocked than most bookshops of comparable size on the Mainland. Able to give your order personal service, we have professional staff, and are members of the Booksellers Association.

Our mail order service has been established for many years. In this list you will find details of Shetland, Orkney, Scottish and Viking books, together with a selection of children’s books. The listings are in alphabetical order, by author, to make it easier for you to find titles by a particular author. A reference number is shown at the end of each description. If the book you are looking for is not on the list it may well be in stock anyway. If not, then we will try to get it for you. As part of our service we receive regular bibliographic updates on CD-ROM which enables us to offer a first class service on customers’ special orders.
