Founded in 1948, Strathclyde Business School (SBS) is an 1948 enterprising, pioneering institution of global standing. It is a triple-accredited business school, holding accreditation from the international bodies AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS and is proud to be among only 1% of business schools worldwide to have achieved this recognition. The University of Strathclyde is located in the heart of Glasgow – one of the UK’s largest and most vibrant cities. Glasgow has recently been voted the ‘friendliest city in the world’ and also one of the ‘top 10 cities in the world to visit’. It was named as a must visit destination by the New York Times and Wanderlust, confirming its reputation as one of the world’s top cities. Our students tell us that Glasgow is a brilliant city to live in, and whether you enjoy shopping, eating out, fantastic nightlife, going to world class music and sporting events, visiting museums and art galleries or just taking a walk within one of the many parks, there is something for everyone in easy reach of the campus. The city is consistently voted as the top place to shop in the UK outside London. It is a UNESCO City of Music, hosting more than 100 music events every week. There are also many festivals throughout the year including the Merchant City Festival, Celtic Connections, Glasgow Science Festival, International Jazz Festival, Glasgow Film Festival and the Glasgow International Comedy Festival to name but a few. With Glasgow only a short journey away from the beautiful landscape of the , Strathclyde students are perfectly positioned to explore everything that Scotland has to offer fans of the great outdoors. Strathclyde Business School welcomes students from over 100 Exchange and Study Abroad partners around the world. Every year, hundreds of students join the Business School for their international experience, making it a vibrant and cosmopolitan place to study. Exchange students can study for one or two semesters at Strathclyde Business School and must be nominated by their home institution. Classes in all academic disciplines within the Business School are open to exchange students. If your home university is not a partner then you can still join us for one semester or a full year as a Study Abroad student. There is typically a fee attached to the programme. SBS works closely with a number of international partners to create collaborative programmes that allow students to be admitted at an advanced entry point to our undergraduate degree. If you are a student from one of our partners then you may be able to join SBS in Year 3 and complete your final years of study in Glasgow. These study routes allow students to experience an academic and social life in two universities and two countries over the duration of only one degree and at a lower cost than completing two degrees separately. You will experience different study, learning and teaching environments and gain new academic perspectives. Such an experience is invaluable and the impact on career prospects is substantial. There are also opportunities for Masters students to complete one year of their postgraduate studies at SBS and receive an MSc award on completion.
