The Two Life Savers by Nathan Meglio & Sara Way The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is an origination that raises money for kids with childhood cancer. This foundation was founded in 1999. The idea came to life when Tim Kenny, John Bender, and Edna McDonnell came up with the idea to give back to their community because of their own good fortune. To raise money, shavees, people who shave their heads donate money to the foundation by designing their fund- raisers online. Two of our fellow Maloney students James and Michael Cipriano shaved their heads for this cause. James and Michael shaved their heads to raise money for childhood cancer. Their father came up with the idea of shaving their heads. This event was held in Watertown, CT at Ordinary Joe`s. James and Mi- chael believe that they will shave their heads again for this cause. They felt like it was the right thing to do, they are very proud of what they did to help others. Maloney students do things all the time to help others, but this is just one of the many of them. So keep doing what you’re doing and show Paw Pride.
