Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband was first performed on 3 January 1895 at the Haymarket Theatre in London. This new production at the Vaudeville Theatre was staged by the Classic Spring Theatre Company led by Dominic Dromgoole, former Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe. Directed by Jonathan Church, this ‘wildely charming’ (Mail On Sunday) and ‘surprisingly topical’ (Sunday Times) production was critically-acclaimed and garnered a host of 4-star reviews. The talented ensemble cast includes real-life father and son Edward and Freddie Fox who are ‘a delicious double-act’ (Independent), with ‘masterful performances’ (Evening Standard) from Olivier Award-nominated Frances Barber, Olivier Award-winner Nathaniel Parker, Sally Bretton and Susan Hampshire.
