March 15th – Peter Island In 1978, an avid sailor purchased Peter Island after sailing past it several years before. He then established the world- class resort that exists today and lived on the island to ensure that every aspect of the resort was perfect and that the island’s beauty and serenity were preserved. When you’re a guest of the Peter Island Marina, you’re a guest of the entire island. Which means you can shake off your sea legs at any of their beaches, pools, restaurants and bars or any of the incredible amenities available on Peter Island including the spa. Dinner will be their Saturday night Seafood Gala Buffet with Live Entertainment. AYC has the entire marina reserved for our group. March 16th – Norman Island Lunch Stop Norman Island lies on the east side of Flanagan Passage with St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, just across from it to the west. The Bight is the main harbor and is home to the caves at Treasure Point, a fascinating location for snorkeling. Our lunch spot will be on the floating restaurant Willie T, a replica of a 93-foot lumber schooner. One tradition calls for adventure seekers to jump off the top of the ship! March 16th - Trellis Bay We are fortunate to be at BVI during a full moon so we can participate in the Trellis Bay Full Moon Party! The Trellis Bay Village will be the location of a monthly ritual the involves Fire Balls, rum and dancers on stilts. There are many mooring balls that we can pick up for the evening or you can anchor. March 17th – Jost van Dyke There are five anchorages or mooring sites on Jost Van Dyke, each with its own special charm. Peaks averaging 1,000 feet in elevation soar skyward from the shore of Great Harbour, home to Foxy’s, one of the most famous restaurants in the Caribbean. We plan on anchoring in Great Harbour and joining in the dinner time St. Patrick’s Day festivities at Foxy’s. March 18th – Cooper Island Cooper Island is the fifth island on the southern side of Sir Francis Drake Channel in the BVI with a wonderful beach for swimming and watersports. Scuba buffs will want to check out Sail Caribbean Divers, which offers dive excursions for divers of all skill levels. Moorings can not be reserved in advance. Dinner will be at the Cooper Island Beach Club. March 19th – The Baths Lunch Stop We will start our day heading over to the The Baths, located on the west end of Virgin Gorda, to explore the caves and beaches. The Baths is a fascinating jumble of boulders, some of which form interesting caves to explore. Restaurants are located at the summit. We will coordinate dropping off people at The Baths as you can not dinghy right up to the spot. March 19th – Virgin Gorda Bitter End Yacht Club An island retreat where love of the water, family tradition, welcoming staff and the generous Caribbean spirit matter most. We invite you to immerse yourself in our world and see how we define the perfect vacation. We will join the rest of the resort at sunset for their Wednesday night Cocktail party. Dinner will be an exclusive AYC West Indian BBQ on the Almond Walk beach side at BEYC. March 20th – Virgin Gorda Bitter End Yacht Club Lay Day Lay on the beach or by the pool. Enjoy the water sports offered by BEYC. Join the excursion at 0900 to Anegada via speed boat! Take safari vehicles to Loblolly Bay, lunch, snorkel and head back in time for a relaxing evening meal. Boat will return at 1700. March 21st – Back to Base Bitter End Yacht Club to Road Town –Although you won’t want to sail back to reality (you can always come visit the BVI again!), the final leg of your charter will be a jaunt back to the Moorings base. We will have our traditional Drinks on the Docks to make sure we do not abandon any libations left in our on board liquor lockers.
