This schedule contains the infrastructure requirements for Bude Integrated Package as well as the requirements for the rest of the Bude CNA Local Plan The Local Plan seeks to maintain Bude’s role as a local service centre, whilst raising the quality and quantity of employment opportunities. Elsewhere in the area development should aim to meet local need. The Local Plan key objectives for the Bude CNA: 1,200 homes in Bude 600 homes elsewhere in the CNA , primarily to meet local needs. Development should: • Maintain Bude’s role as a local service centre meeting the needs of the town and the rural hinterland and sustain and enhance Bude’s role as one of the primary employment hubs in the northeast of the county. • To alleviate the demand for local affordable housing and improve the overall balance of housing in the area in terms of tenure, type and affordability. • Support the needs of communities in the rural hinterland through appropriate local needs development and the maintenance of community facilities. • To maintain and enhance the area’s heritage and environmental assets for the benefit of the local community and to enhance the area’s tourism offer. • To maintain and enhance the distinct character of Bude, Stratton, Flexbury and Poughill. • To deliver the highway and sustainable transport infrastructure needed to support the delivery of future housing and economic growth and deliver other infrastructure required for the growth of the area. Enhance the quantity and quality of Bude, Stratton, Flexbury and Poughill’s publicly accessible green infrastructure. Town Framework A Neighbourhood Plan for Bude-Stratton is currently being prepared. The plan replaces the earlier Town Framework document and can be found via this link:- Bude Costs The schedule identifies costs of the infrastructure projects where they are known. In many cases however the project costs are not known or are subject to change and caution is needed in regarding these costs. The total known costs of projects in the Bude CNA schedule are shown below but these come with a health warning as they are only temporary totals. The total known cost (many costs unknown at this time and some costs shared with other areas) for delivering the infrastructure projects in the area is :- £11,751,000.00 Funding As with costs, the information on funding as shown in the schedule needs to be considered with caution, as new information on funding sources and figures emerges regularly. Funding for infrastructure at Bude could come from a number of sources including: ERDF Growth Programme, Cornwall Council, Homes and Communities Agency, Flood and Coastal Resilience Partnership Funding, the New Homes Bonus and Cornwall Community Infrastructure Levy.
