STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 1993 No. 163 HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND AND WALES The A30 and A39 Trunk Roads (Indian Queens, Fraddon and St Columb Road Bypasses and Slip Roads) Order 1993 Made - - - - 26th January 1993 Coming into force - - 19th February 1993 The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 41 of the Highways Act 1980(1), and now vested in him(2), and of all other enabling powers:– 1. This Order shall come into force on 19th February 1993 and may be cited as the A30 and A39 Trunk Roads (Indian Queens, Fraddon and St Columb Road Bypasses and Slip Roads) Order 1993. 2.     This schedule contains the infrastructure requirements for Bude Integrated Package as well as the requirements for the rest of the Bude CNA Local Plan The Local Plan seeks to maintain Bude’s role as a local service centre, whilst raising the quality and quantity of employment opportunities. Elsewhere in the area development should aim to meet local need. The Local Plan key objectives for the Bude CNA: 1,200 homes in Bude 600 homes elsewhere in the CNA , primarily to meet local needs. Development should: • Maintain Bude’s role as a local service centre meeting the needs of the town and the rural hinterland and sustain and enhance Bude’s role as one of the primary employment hubs in the northeast of the county. • To alleviate the demand for local affordable housing and improve the overall balance of housing in the area in terms of tenure, type and affordability. • Support the needs of communities in the rural hinterland through appropriate local needs development and the maintenance of community facilities. • To maintain and enhance the area’s heritage and environmental assets for the benefit of the local community and to enhance the area’s tourism offer. • To maintain and enhance the distinct character of Bude, Stratton, Flexbury and Poughill. • To deliver the highway and sustainable transport infrastructure needed to support the delivery of future housing and economic growth and deliver other infrastructure required for the growth of the area. Enhance the quantity and quality of Bude, Stratton, Flexbury and Poughill’s publicly accessible green infrastructure.
