FoodCloud offers a complete solution for surplus food redistribution. Our services enable Community Groups to access good food and create long-lasting, local relationships while ensuring that no good food goes to waste. Our technology platform is also used by FoodBanks and food rescue organisations internationally, enabling them to work with more donors in their country. We are committed to supporting the overall global achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 12.3, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels, and SDG 2, to achieve zero hunger by 2030. 2019 Annual Report Hungry for a kinder world 5 OUR 2019 IMPACT AT A GLANCE: IRELAND Since 2013, FoodCloud have established two national solutions for food redistribution in Ireland: a network of three warehouses that redistribute large quantities of surplus food across Ireland through our Hubs Solution and a retail technology platform that connects food businesses directly to local charities. Working with over 800 Irish Community Groups, an average of 2,200 tonnes is rescued annually through FoodCloud’s two solutions. FoodCloud works with Fareshare in the UK to support the redistribution of food with their retail partners Tesco and Waitrose. FoodCloud are also supporting OzHarvest in Australia, and through Tesco are working with Banki Zywnosci in Poland and Ceska Federace Potravinovjch bank in the Czech Republic. Our 2019 impact would not be possible without the hard work and genuine commitment of our food industry and retail partners, our team, our volunteer board of directors, our generous donors, supporters, volunteers and over 7,500 community organisations who continue to support us throughout Ireland and the UK. We want to thank you sincerely for your continued support in partnering with us on what has been an incredible journey. FoodCloud were proud to continue our three-year partnership with AIB supported by Rethink Ireland (formerly Social Innovation Fund Ireland), and are grateful to the hundreds of volunteers who donated Jack Dunphy their time to us. We’re all in this together: working together, innovating together and making the world better together, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you into the future. 2019 Annual Report Hungry for a kinder world 8 CEO STATEMENT Under the merged entity, FoodCloud now has one board and executive team delivering on clear strategic priorities, harnessing the combined skills of the two organisations to optimise performance and impact. The merged entity supports a broader and more balanced range of income streams, healthy reserves, improved cost control creating a financially stable and sustainable organisation. FoodCloud are now also responsible for two substantial multi-year Government agreements previously held under FoodCloud Hubs, specifically a) the EU Fund for the European Aid for the Most Deprived (FEAD), run in partnership with the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP). b) the Community Services Programme through the Department of Rural and Community Development whose aim is to create sustainable jobs for those distant from the labour market. OUR IMPACT: Impact Ireland In 2019, FoodCloud worked with Aldi, Dunnes, Lidl, Musgrave MarketPlace and Iseult Ward Tesco to redistribute 1,192 tonnes of surplus food to 584 community groups FoodCloud CEO via our technology platform. Through the last 6 months of 2019 following the merger, 547 tonnes of food was redistributed through our three warehousing hubs to a network of 235 community groups.
