Dear Deputy O'Reilly, The Health Service Executive has been requested to reply directly to your above Parliamentary Questions which you submitted to the Minister for Health for response. I have examined the matter and the following outlines the position: Please find a list of HSE funded and supported alcohol services by county in tabular form in Appendix 1. These have been obtained from the directory of services on drugs.ie (note each service name is hyperlinked to the directory). Regarding the waiting list for alcohol addiction, the below tables outline the time between referral and treatment for people presenting to services, identifying alcohol as their main problem drug during 2015. This is the most current available data from the National Drug Treatment Reporting System (NDTRS). An explanatory note on the NDTRS is at appendix 2. Referrals on 140 new children and young people were received, slightly down on the 2014 figure. Between them, the Project Leader and volunteer Support Workers provided a total of 1,676 hours of work, 838 hours of which involved direct contact with 180 children and their parents/guardians. In addition, the Project Leader continued to provide educational outreach to schools and community agencies. A Fund Raising Sub‐Committee was established by the Board; Majella O’Connell chairs this sub‐committee, assisted by Seamus O’Brien. In July, the annual Summer Party was organised, as usual, by the Project’s volunteers, and was thoroughly enjoyed by the children/young people and their parents/guardians. The Board of Management met on four occasions throughout the year, not including the Christmas Party, organised, once more, by the Project’s volunteers.
