Alexander Berzin On the morning of July 6th, a traditional parade will wind through the streets of the Orientation To Buddhism and the Kalachakra th US Capitol to celebrate the 76 birthday of His Holiness (Trung-la-ya-soel). Those July 9 who wish to participate can line up outside Verizon Center on the 7th Street side, after the Verizon Birthday Ceremonies conclude (approx. 11:30 AM). Market at the kalachakra Just outside Verizon Center, you will find a great Tibetan Market to enjoy. It will run from July 5-16 everyday from 10 am - 8 pm. The location of the marketplace is F Street NW sidewalk between 7th and 9th Streets, NW.

The Kalachakra Empowerment is one of the most sacred and rare of all Buddhist teachings. Its tradition has passed down from masters to masters over hundreds of years. It is our singular honor and privilege to have His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama bestow this Kalachakra for World Prayer of a Bodhisattva Peace in our nation’s capital. We hope this event will both be spiritually rejuvenating and educational for all of us. With a wish to free all beings Although the Kalachakra teaching is primarily a Buddhist tradition, it encompasses the universal concept of the fundamental interdependence of men and nature.
