Crawley Growth Programme UPDATE MAY 2019 Manor Royal – Progress Update • Manor Royal Outdoor Media - 4 Digital Signs installed to promote BID events and sustainable transport schemes. • Highways improvements to London Road – Manor Royal and London Road – County Oak junctions – Results of consultation being analysed; Awaiting confirmation of prelim designs • Manor Royal Bus Shelter Super hubs – Draft concept designs to be made available for consultation in June. • Manor Royal – Three Bridges Station Cycle Scheme – Draft concept designs to be made available for consultation in June. Crawley Growth Programme – Town Centre – Delivery Update • Queensway - Works progressing on schedule / on budget • Grade A Commercial Space Development - Ongoing negotiations on space acquisition • Station Gateway - Consultation on detailed designs – June / July - Arora to submit Reserved Matters planning app by end July - Crawley railway station design proposals to be finalised - Crawley bus station / Friary Way planning app – autumn ‘19 • Eastern Gateway - Tender process to select contractors for design and works - Detailed design process commences Jul 2019 • Town Centre Cycle Improvements - Scheme designs out to consultation – June / July Three Bridges Station Corridor • Three Bridges Station Improvement Scheme - Traffic modelling and design work ongoing to determine: I) Viability of right hand turn removal; II) Cycle route access Three Bridges station to Manor Royal • New Bus Shelter Installed (opposite station) - Land acquired by LIDL to enable new bus shelter • Worth Park Avenue Cycle Way scheme - Cycle route up and running. • Haslett Avenue East Signal Upgrades - All works on traffic signals / pedestrian crossings completed • Bus stop Super hub shelters - Design options being finalised (Allen Scott) TC Regeneration Site Updates Town Hall • Demolition work to commence on eastern section of existing Town Hall – autumn this year ahead of 9 storey Town Hall including 5 floors of commercial space • Demolition of West Rock owned car park adjacent to Town Hall complete by end June. Construction to commence soon after. 91 flats on that site. • Outline permission for 182 flats and full permission for 91 flats on adjacent West Rock car park site. • Completion of new Town Hall – autumn 2021 Telford Place • Clarion Housing Group selected by CBC • Will develop 313 residential units, commercial space • Planning application expected later this year County Buildings • Plans for mixed use development at initial stages Crawley Growth Programme This £60m investment programme will unlock jobs, business space and homes. • Upgrade the business and living environment in the town centre and Manor Royal • Secure £750m further investment • Improve sustainable transport infrastructure in the town centre, Manor Royal and at 3 railway stations. • Unlock private funds for new Crawley railway station • Unlock over 1 million square feet of much needed new Grade A commercial space • Enable delivery of 1,000+ new town centre homes • Deliver 7,000 extra jobs.
