Tickets on sale from Monday 13 August from 7.00pm ONLINE ONLY • There will be no Customer Service or Box Office admin working at the on sale time • All sales will need to be done online or wait until 9.00am the following morning Tuesday 14 August Lake Cathie Public School performance is Wednesday 12 September 2018 • 11.30am matinee • 6.30pm evening performance As a starting point we are limiting the purchase of tickets to 2 per family for the evening show to ensure that everyone has equal opportunity to attend. We ask that if you are able to attend the matinee performance please choose this as your preference. We encourage this audience to consist of parents with small children as well as grandparents and extended family members. Children over the age of 3 must have their own seat. Lake Cathie Public School Term 3 Week 3 Issue # 13 Page 1 Education Week Open Day EDUCATION WEEK 2018 SCHOOL BUILDING UPDATE Perhaps quite timely, the task group working with the Department of Education to plan for our new school buildings has released initial information regarding the project. The project has a dedicated website where information will be added throughout the duration of the project. We are still planning to hold an information session at the school where plans will be presented to the community. A date is yet to be confirmed. In the meantime, please view the project website. This year’s theme, Today’s schools – creating tomorrow’s world, highlights how NSW public schools are equipping young people with the skills and capabilities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. The key messages behind this theme focuses on five main areas. 1. By developing a growth mindset, our students will become life-long learners equipped with the resilience to embrace new challenges, the aptitude to reach higher levels of achievement and adaptability to master new skills. 2. TELL THEM FROM ME SURVEY - TERM 3 DATES TO REMEMBER I am delighted that this term, our school, like many other public schools in the state, will participate in a Department of Education initiative: the Tell Them From Me student feedback Tuesday 14 August survey. The survey measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and ICAS Mathematics other student outcomes. The focus of the NSW-wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effective teaching practices. Wednesday 15 August Camden Haven High School CHATS You may remember that our students in Years 4-6 also participated in a Tell Them From test Me student survey in Term 1 this year. The survey is conducted online and will typically take less than 30 minutes to complete. It will be administered during school hours between 27 August and 26 October. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary. A consent form and FAQs for parents/carers about the survey was sent home with students on Monday 13th August, 2018. If you do not want your child or children to participate, please return the form to school by Friday 23 August, 2018. Ba nd Camp It all started when we arrived at the Francis Retreat, Bonny Hills. We rushed into our cabin, A1. We were all on a top bunk and Lucy was on a bottom bunk with Ellen, Neave and Willow. After we set up we went to lunch where we had a whopping burger and chips. when we had a full stomach we went to our first band tutorial. That night, we had so much fun at games night! Unfortunately after about an hour and a half we had to go to bed. The next day we worked our butts off playing music. In the afternoon all our hard work paid off. We got to play ... the one and only ... Cartoon Characters!!! After that we went dancing. When we were exhausted we watched Trolls to calm down. On the last day we worked hard in tutorials and performed.
