Jakarta, the Capital, is the largest city. It is located on the north- ARRIVAL JAKARTA western coast of the island of Java. Jakarta is the country economic, cultural and political center. It is the most populous city in Indonesia. Jakarta city as the biggest city and most developed city in Indonesia has long history and offers old heritage or historical places traditional activity up to modern recreation and entertainment. DAY 2 In the morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel and start the overland journey to visit Bogor. Drive to Bogor is about 1,5 hours, you’ll begin with visit the beautiful BOGOR BOTANICAL GARDEN & town of Bogor located at the site one of the world’s most outstanding botanical TEA PLANTATION gardens. The Bogor Botanical Gardens host more than 15.000 species of trees and plants and over 5.000 species of tropical orchid. Spend time walking around the gardens and enjoying the beautiful landscapes. From the Garden can be seen Bogor’s Presidential Palace, which is noted for its distinctive architecture. It was built in 1744 as a retreat for The Dutch Governors and was later used by the British administration. After that continue to Bandung, along the way you will passing through a manicure landscape of tea plantation and terraced rice fields. DAY 3 A full day tour covering Tangkuban Perahu crater, an active volcano 30 km north of the city of Bandung popular for hiking or take a ride to the edge of the crater to view the hot TANGKUBAN PERAHU CRATER water springs unclose. The main attraction of Tangkuban Perahu Mountain are the nine & TRADITIONAL BAMBOO craters, some are still geologically listed as active craters. The names of the craters are INSTRUMENT PERFORMANCE Domas Crater, Ecoma Crater, Jarian Crater, Jurig Crater, Lanang Crater, Pangguyangan Badak Crater, Ratu Crater, Siluman Crater, and Upas Crater. The three most popular craters are Domas, Ratu, and Upas. Ratu Crater is the largest on this mountain and shaped like a giant bowl. Then to Ciater Hot Spring, a nice park with the streams and pools which fed by warm mineral springs created by the heat from nearby volcanoes. Then passing through the huge wonderful tea plantation, a spring spa to relax in a travel weary limb. In the afternoon back to Bandung with stop at Padasuka village to enjoy the Angklung (traditional bamboo instrument) performance at Saung Angklung Udjo. Saung Angklung Udjo is one–stop cultural workshop, consisting of: performance venue, bamboo handicraft center and bamboo instrument workshop. INDONESIA DISCOVERY | SAMPLE ITINERARY ITINERARY DAY 4 Drive through magnificent terraced rice fields, and lush countryside. Departing for the traditional village, Kampung Naga, a Sundanese village on the border of the Ciwulan KAMPUNG NAGA, A river. SUNDANESE VILLAGE Scenic Kampung Naga is one of West Java’s few remaining traditional indigenous Sundanese villages, breathtaking in every sense of the word. Nestled at the bottom of a ricefield-carpeted valley down a punishingly steep and winding river-stone-paved stairway. Halfway between Garut and Tasikmalaya along a jungle-shrouded serpentine highway, an unsignposted side road leads to the main carpark of the village from where you commence the long walk into the fertile ravine. As you descend, the broadening view reveals a mosaic of dense jungle, patchwork fields and thatched-roof houses. While walking around the village you will see about 100 wooden houses with roofs made of Ijuk, sugar palm fiber. There is no electricity in the village and people maintain a traditional way of life. Crossing the border to Central Java passing teakwood and rubber plantations to Baturaden. DAY 5 The Dieng Plateau is a unique volcanic region in Central Java. Rolling green hills, multi- colored lakes and bubbling pits of mud. All surrounded by views of nearby mountains EXPLORE DIENG PLATEAU and volcanoes. The diversity of the landscape makes the area very different to anywhere CRATER else in Indonesia. Drive thru mountainous region to Dieng plateau passing some beautiful countryside, rural villages, and terraced rice fields. Walks across the volcanically active plateau are possible – to mineral lakes, steaming craters or even Java's highest village, Sembungan. A more gentle hike threads around the central plateau from the Arjuna temple complex to Candi Bima, Kawah Sikidang, Telaga Warna and back to Dieng village. INDONESIA DISCOVERY | SAMPLE ITINERARY ITINERARY Explore the Dieng Crater, exploring and finding some oldest Hindu temples in Java which stand around a crater floor amidst sulphurous fumes and a rugged natural surround. Visit some oldest Hindu shrines, you will explore the Arjuna temple, a complex of Hindu temple built in early 7th century and well known as the oldest Hindu temple in Indonesia. At noon proceed to Yogyakarta. DAY 6 Morning visit after breakfast for Yogyakarta featuring Sultan Palace, Bird and traditional market, Silver and Batik factory to see how the processing of making those very BOROBUDUR TEMPLE traditional souvenirs. After lunch then headed to Borobudur Buddhist Temple. Visit Yogyakarta is not complete without seeing Borobudur Temple. It is listed as a UNESCO’s World Heritage Site and the majestic 8th century Buddhist temple is Indonesia’s greatest religious monument. Encounter 504 life-sized Buddha statues, each carved from a single stone. Discover seated Buddha statue beneath each bell-shaped spire. Admire its grandeur, beauty, and uniqueness. See 2.672 relief panels and learn about Buddha’s teachings. From your guide you can learn the Buddha philosophy by exploring the relief on Borobudur temple. Climb steep steps and be rewarded with a panoramic view. Marvel at the majestic sight of Central Java and Mount Merapi. DAY 7 Visit to Prambanan temple known as the most elegance Hindu shrines, traditional market, lush countryside and rural villages. This visit to the 9th century Hindu temple PRAMBANAN TEMPLE complex at Prambanan. Largely in ruins yet still with fine contours and intricate stone carvings. Prambanan was selected as a UNESCO's World Heritage Site in 1991. Prambanan temple complex which is supposed to be the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia and is the most beautiful Hindus temples in Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu temple architecture. INDONESIA DISCOVERY | SAMPLE ITINERARY ITINERARY The soaring, 47-metre tall Shiva temple and the 33-metre Brahma and Vishnu temples on either side form the center piece of the complex. The three towers cut a striking figure in any conditions, but are perhaps most breathtaking when lit up at night. One of the statues in the Shiva temple is said to be of Loro Jonggrang, a legendary princess whose name is often also used for the temple itself. She tried to fool an unwelcome suitor whom she had challenged to build 1,000 statues in one night into thinking morning had come just as he completed the 999th one. However, he saw through her deception and turned her into the last statue. DAY 8 Malang city tour visit Chinese temple, Bird market and Ceramic Dinoyo. First visit Klenteng (Chinese Temple), is a unique and colorful temple belong to the three faiths; MALANG CITY TOUR Budhism, Confucianism and Taoism. This old temple is one of the most important tourism icon in Malang. This is the famous temple in Malang City that commonly visited by many people. Although, the visitors are dominated by Chinese people, but the other etnis people are also often visit this temple. Beside praying, the people are also have pilgrimage tour here. Next visit Ceramic Dinoyo. Sentoy ceramics Dinoyo, Malang, has existed since 1957. Initially this rice field environment was formed as a center of pottery and produce household equipment. Seeing the development of Chinese ceramics, Dinoyo craftsmen then develop semi-porcelain ceramics and his name continues to be known until now. Afterward transfer to Bromo via Nangjajar Village. Arrived at Bromo check in to your hotel and enjoy free time at your own leisure. INDONESIA DISCOVERY | SAMPLE ITINERARY ITINERARY DAY 9 In the early morning you’ll be wake up and the Jeep will bring you to the world’s most famous view point at Penanjakan on the rim of the Tengger caldera to enjoy the SUNRISE AT MOUNT BROMO & beautiful sunrise with its young volcanic including Mount Bromo and an active Mount HORSE RIDING ON ASH Semeru in the background. Mount Bromo is one of the most incredible volcanoes in the world. It just so happens to be surrounded by several other volcanoes in one of the most magnificent landscapes you will ever set eyes on. Myth has it that Mount Bromo is significant to the Tengger people who believe that the site is where their brave prince sacrificed his life for his family. To appease the Gods, the people will offer food and money by throwing it into the crater of the volcano once a year during annual Kasada (or Kasodo) festival. After sunrise, you will continue to Mount Bromo and ride the horses to experience the famed trek across the seas of sand at Mount Bromo in Indonesia, and finally climbing 245 stair cases to reach the rim of creater.
