We found that the genus Asterococcus and two uni- cellular , volvocalean genera , Lobochlamys Proschold & al. and Oogamochlamys Proschold Proschold & al., formed a robust monophyletic group , which was separated from two te 位asporalean clades , one composed of Tetraspora Link and Paulschulzia Sk 吋a and the other other containing the other palme l1 0psidacean genus Chlamydocaps αFot t. Therefore , the Tetrasporales Tetrasporales in the CW group is clearly polyphyletic and taxonomic revision of the order order and the Palmellopsidaceae is needed. Smithsonian Contributions to Botany, number 34, 22 pages, 13 figures, 1976.-Six species of benthic marine algae (one Chlorophyta, two Phaeophyta, and three Rhodophyta) are newly reported from the Gulf of California, hfexico. Species of Halicystis, Sporochnus, Bonnemaisonia, Dudresnnya, and Sebdenia represent genera new to the Gulf, with the last being new to North America. The distribu~ionof twelve other species is extended. Two new nomenclatural combinations, Dasya bailloziviana var. nudicaulus and Dasya baillouviana var, stanfordiana, are proposed. The morphological variation of some species is discussed. Spermatangia of Dudresnnya colombiana, and tetrasporangia and spermatangia of Kallymenia pertusa are re- ported and described for the first time. Ceramiaceae, Wrangeliaceae and Callithamniaceae (Rhodophyta) Mayra García1, Santiago Gómez2 y Nelson Gil3 Resumen Las siguientes cuatro especies: Balliella pseudocorticata, Perikladosporon percurrens, Monosporus indicus y Seirospora occidentalis, constituyen las primeras citas para la costa venezolana. Se mencionan sus caracteres diagnóstico y se establecen comparaciones con especies cercanas. Todas estas han sido mencionadas en arrecifes coralinos de aguas tropicales y se consideran comunes en el Mar Caribe. Palabras clave: Balliella, Monosporus, Perikladosporon, Seirospora, Rhodophyta. Abstract The following four species: Balliella pseudocorticata, Perikladosporon percurrens, Monosporus indicus and Seirospora occidentalis, represent the first report to the Venezuelan coast, of which mention their diagnostic features and making comparisons with its relatives.
