Tokuyama Globefish

Kudamatsu Gyukotsu Ramen

The cow bone broth with Chinese noodles “Ramen” is unique in Japan and ,at Kudamatsu-city, popular enough as a local gourmet to be a queue for waiting at the entrance of the shop during the lunchtime. Soup consists with fully melted flavor of cow bone and characterizes refreshing aftertaste, there are unique sweetness and flavor. It is called Kudamatsu style to taste with "Inarizushi".

Ham and Sausages

Ham and sausage which are made from the special pigs grown in the northern part of Shunan-city, Shikano area. The pig is the "quaternary mating" species originally created in the Netherlands. Roadside Station "Solene Shunan"

Roadside Station "Solene Shunan" is located along National Route 2 at the west entrance to Shunan City, and offers a place where travelers on the road can comfortably rest. It also information of road, sightseeing and about Shunan brands, promoting Shunan City both within and beyond the city, and to all of Japan. It also aims to give a boost to the agriculture, forestry, and fishery industries, and to help revitalize the community.

Remains of the Kaiten Training Base and Kaiten Memorial Museum on Ozushima

The Kaiten human torpedoes were created near the end of the Pacific War as a special attack weapon consisting of a torpedo loaded with explosives and piloted by a human operator to strike enemy ships. A training base for the special attack unit members was located in Ozushima. Many elite youth around 20 years of age came here from around Japan, and after undergoing harsh training, left from here on attacks. This facility is intended so that people will remember the history of the Kaiten human torpedoes and continue to pass on their story to future generations.

Ito Memorial Park

The first prime minister of Japan, Hirobumi Ito, was born and spent his early years in Hikari City (formerly Yamato Town). In addition to the house where he was born, the park contains a museum that exhibits furniture that Duke Ito used at Sorokaku, his second home in Oiso, Kanagawa Prefecture, as well as his dress uniform and other clothing, inkstones and brushes, the small Buddha statue that he always carried with him, and other items. The park also shows a video that introduces his life and belongings. There is also the former residence of Duke Ito, the basic design of which he created himself.

Kuroiwa Gorge

Kuroiwa Gorge is located in the eastern part of the Shunan City, on the border with Iwakuni City. It is a quiet gorge that is part of the Mt. Iwaki Prefectural Natural Park. Families can enjoy the sight of new, bright green leaves in spring, river fun in summer, and fall colors in autumn.Mitsuo Hot Spring and Yobizuru Hot Spring are also located nearby.

Inaho Festival (Fox's Wedding)

A wedding procession consisting of the bride and groom dressed as foxes, accompanied by a long train of fox servants including attendants bearing the dowry slowly winds its way through the streets of the town. This festival is known for this unusual ritual which brings the legend of the white fox to life.
