Hank Feinberg webinar on cloud computing

We are proud to announce our second of three spring webinars will be given by Hank Feinberg, from the APCUG Speakers Bureau. Hank is familiar with the needs of user groups and has extensive experience speaking on various topics at all levels of expertise.
Hank will clarify for us what the cloud is and how we can use it. He will talk about available applications, current providers and security. He will also discuss differences between public and private clouds, and more. delivery of computing as a service rather than a product, which means that “shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices as a utility (like the electricity grid) over a network (typically the Internet)” (from Wikipedia).
The term “cloud” has been in use, originally in the context of schematics used by network administrators, and later to describe the Internet. Currently, the cloud is used to describe any type of virtual computing which involves the Internet rather than your local hard drive. This conceptual

In addition to the ease and usefulness of cloud computing, it has several characteristics: ➤ Empowerment of end-users; ➤ Application programming interface (API) accessibility; ➤ Cost reduction; ➤ Improved reliability; and ➤ Application maintenance

Hank Feinberg has been involved with computers for more than 30 years. He is a member of the Rockland PC Users Group (RPCUG) for 25 years. He has presented at national and international conferences on a variety of computing and refurbishing topics. He is on the speakers bureau of the FACUG and APCUG. Some recent accomplishments and positions he holds are: President Rockland PC Users Group; Founder Director, PC Renew; Director, FACUG; Director, APCUG; Steering Committee, Trenton Computer Fair; consultant, National Cristina Foundation; recipient of President’s Distinguished Service Award.
