Healthy constituency is a happy constituency- Mr Naveen Jindal He announced building of Tirupati Balaji Temple near Braham Sarovar on 6 acre land allotted by Haryana Government The Temple will be built with a cost of Rs 30 crore, funded by Tirupati Tirumala Devasthan, expected to be completed in one year Highlights of Health Camp at Ladwa • Vishal Health Mela at Ladwa, Kurukshetra inaugurated by MP Naveen Jindal • More than 200 doctors and paramedics treated the constituents • Free of cost tests and medicines were made available by OPJGJS • Thousands of constituents benefitted Aug 12, 2012: The Vishal Health Camp at Ladwa, Kurukshetra was successfully organized by O P Jindal Grameen Jankalyan Sansthan (OPJGJS) on Aug 12, 2012 to celebrate the 82nd birth anniversary of Late Mr OP Jindal. Thousands of people took advantage of free services provided at the camp varying from basic health check-up to super-specialty services like mammography tests. The camp at Sugni Devi Arya Kanya Senior Secondary School in Ladwa, was inaugurated by Mr Naveen Jindal, Member of Parliament (Kurukshetra). The super-specialty teams from Agroha Medical College comprising specialists and paramedics were available to provide free medical tests including blood tests, height, weight measures, blood pressure etc. Specialists in the field of ENT, Orthopedics, Gynecologists, Dental surgeons, Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Skin, Physiotherapy, Eye, Mammography among others were also present to give free treatment to patients. The health camp commenced at 9.30 am and ended at 4 pm in the evening, wherein free medicines were also distributed. A team of more than 200 doctors and paramedics was available at the camp. While inaugurating the health camp, Mr Jindal said, “I am following foot-steps of my father, Shri O P Jindal. He always encouraged me to work towards betterment of people. After the success of Mega Health Camp at Kalayat, Kaithal in May, we decided to organize “Vishal Health Mela” in Ladwa. Such health camps will be a regular feature and will be organized every 2-3 months in different parts of the constituency. My focus is to improve the healthcare and sanitation conditions. I firmly believe a healthy constituency is a happy constituency.’’ While addressing the press in Ladwa, Mr Jindal announced building of Tirupati Balaji Temple on a six acre land near Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra. The land has been allotted by the Haryana Government. The temple will be built with a cost of Rs 30 crore, funded by Tirupati Tirumala Devasthan. The temple is expected to be completed in one year. The foundation stone will be laid by Haryana chief minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda on August 14, 2012. Other highlights of the health camp included specialty tests like Mammography. This device was installed to detect and diagnose breast cancer, benign tumors and cysts in women of the constituency. In the last camp, through this cancer detection initiative by ROKO, five cases were also detected. Discussing the healthcare drive in the constituency, Mr Jindal added, “Immense efforts are being put in by our team towards bringing better healthcare facilities in the constituency, Initiatives are being made to bring in advanced physiotherapy techniques to Kurukshetra Parliamentary Constituency. Such techniques will benefit general public and sportspersons for ailments and help improve their fitness”. Blood camps and eye camps are being organized regularly. Four medical vans have been dedicated to treat patients. More than 60,000 patients have been treated in 700 villages through these medical vans so far. More than 1.5 lakh spectacles have been distributed free of cost by OPJGJS to the needy and around four lakh patients have been treated at regular eye camps. In future, the sansthan will be organizing specialty health camps also, for the benefit of the constituents. Most likely, the next health camp will be organized in Yamuna Nagar. As part of healthcare and sanitation drive, toilets are being constructed in the constituency and awareness programs regarding sanitation are expected to be launched shortly. Till date more than 60,000 toilets have been built which made Kurukshetra model sanitation district with more than 300 Nirmal Grams. Besides healthcare and sanitation, OPJGJS has been taking several measures for the empowerment of women like organizing cooking camps, sewing centers and self- grooming classes. For the benefit of students, several programs like career counseling, free copy distribution and scholarship programs have been undertaken. Also, gyms and sports facilities have been provided for the youth and sportspersons of the constituency. Initiatives taken by OPJGJS in Healthcare • Health Camp at Kalayat, Kaithal where more than 3000 patients were treated by 200 doctors and paramedics from Agroha Medical College. Free distribution of medicines and free tests. Specialty tests like Mammography tests were conducted by ROKO • 158105 spectacles distributed free of cost • 388848 patients treated at regular Eye Camps • More than 612269 patients treated across more than 700 villages by 4 medical vans running everyday to two villages, covered more than 8128 locations in KPC • 39998 cataract operations done free of cost in more than 1047 locations • Distribution of tricycles to physically challenged people • More than 60315 toilets built, which made Kurukshetra model sanitation district with more than 300 Nirmal Grams • State- of- the- art physiotherapy units in Kurukshetra & Kaithal treated more than 3000 patients in a short span of 6 months • Special provision of a trained physiotherapist for national hockey players in Shahabad • Organized 10 blood testing camps and three blood donation camps ENDS .
