Stepping into an Indy Car for the first time during pre-season testing, Simona immediately impressed HVM team owner, Keith Wiggins, “From the first day of the first test, we knew she could drive,” said Wiggins. “The longer we worked with her, the more she impressed us. I think she has a great future in this series. She made a lot of history in the Atlantic Championship and we expect her to make some waves in IndyCar now that she’s here.” Indy Lights: Junior Strous: Shell, Car # 6 Birthplace: The Netherlands Birth date: April 28th, 1986 Residence: Lyss, Switzerland Having won 22.6% of the races he has entered during his short career, Junior is a driver who is used to being at the front. Running just a partial season in Indy Lights in 2009, he won 2 races and was leading the Championship when budgetary constraints cut short his program. With a full time commitment with HVM for 2010, Junior is fired up to make his mark in Indy Lights and move up to Indy Cars as soon as possible. “Junior is a proven talent,” HVM team owner, Keith Wiggins comments, “He’s won races, so we know he has good skills behind the wheel. We will start him in a (Firestone Indy) Lights car and plan to do some testing with him in the big car at some point this season also. I have no doubt that with continued development he will be in an IZOD IndyCar Series car in the future.”.
