Could you be next? Four local poets, writing in Sesotho, took top honours in the second AVBOB Poetry Competition. Launched on Mandela Day in 2017, the competition invited all South Kaizer Tjokoane Africans of all ages to write poetry in their own mother tongue. The aim was to provide the people of South Africa with a collection of poems that would bring comfort, and that would offer consolation to those who have lost a loved one. The winning poet, Kaizer Tjokoane, is based in Katlehong, Johannesburg.
