Working Together for Our Children

Teacher – fixed term contract from September 2019 – August 2020

Thank you for expressing an interest to teach in our school. I believe that this is a wonderful opportunity to join Carr Hill Community Primary School at a very exciting time. Carr Hill is a challenging but rewarding school to work in and has an excellent team that will offer support and guidance. Without doubt, the staff and their determination and drive to improve standards for all our pupils and families is the school’s greatest asset and as a result the task of appointing staff to new roles is always given great importance.

We are seeking to appoint a qualified teacher for 1 year to cover maternity leave, from September 2019. We want to appoint someone who will add to the existing outstanding and good teaching throughout our school, as well as offering something that will excite our children and further motivate their achievements. Someone who has ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ judgements in their teaching (as used during Ofsted lesson observation process). We will seek this confirmation via references.

Carr Hill Community Primary School serves the and High Fell community in the East End of , an area of high social disadvantage and challenge. We are a popular, successful school with growing pupil numbers. Our 1920’s building has been subject to significant adaptations to create a vibrant learning and teaching environment. This is a school that doesn’t stand still!

We are looking to appoint someone who shares our drive to improve the life chances and opportunities of all our children. Our commitment is to raise their attainment, enrich their progress and develop a ‘roundness’ that we all become proud of. Our approach works and that’s why we are getting bigger, with children and parents choosing Carr Hill as their first preference school.

Carr Hill Primary School is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young children. If successful you will have to apply for an enhanced Disclosure. The post will also require disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006.
