Fiona Joyce Deputy Director-Head of International and Institutional Relations World Savings and Retail Banking Institute - European Savings and Retail Banking Group (WSBI-ESBG), Brussels, Belgium In her capacity as Head of International and Institutional Relations at WSBI- ESBG, Fiona Joyce is responsible for relations with members and for raising the profile of WSBI-ESBG with external stakeholders. Activities include the coordination of input into and promotion of WSBI-ESBG international advocacy positions as well the organisation and facilitation of awareness raising and knowledge sharing events. These include standing fora such as the annual WSBI Regional Group meetings, the Postal Savings Banks Forum as well as Networks for the exchange of information and experience among peers on such topics as banking technology, brand & marketing communications and market strategy. In previous positions, she was responsible for identifying and facilitating cross– border Business Cooperation activities, including exchanges of information and experience, under the auspices of a high-level ESBG group set up for this purpose. She was also responsible for setting up WSBI-ESBG’s technical assistance & consultancy activities and has been the project manager for a number of EU financed consultancy projects in the former Soviet Union and some eastern European countries. She has advocacy experience in representing the interests of WSBI-ESBG towards the European Commission and the European Central Bank in matters related to securities clearing and settlement. Prior to joining WSBI-ESBG, she was a business development project manager at the Irish Industrial Development Authority, in Dublin and Paris. She started her professional career in Brussels with an internship at the Commission of the European Communities. .
