represent one of the strategic documents addressing the area of transport in the Czech Republic. The document elaborates in more detail on certain areas of the basic strategic document for the development of the transport sector which is the Transport Policy of the Czech Republic for the period 2005-2013 (hereinafter Transport Policy of the CR)1.The need to compile a strategic document dealing with the question of development of the transport infrastructure of individual modes of transport arises from the effort to coordinate this development in a manner supporting competitiveness of individual segments, and fully utilising the positive aspects of individual modes of transport. The strategic document reflects the need to assess the position of individual segments in a wider context in terms of territory and time. It takes into consideration the overlap of transport access in relation to building trans-European networks including trends that can be expected based on the situation in the country and in Europe. The document also endeavours to outline general trends and development of individual segments in the long term until 2030.Compilation
