Gordon Hunt Announces the continuation of his Master Class for actors

Gordon Hunt was nominated twice for the Directors Guild of America award for best director of a comedy, and won the award for the Alan Brady Show episode of “Mad About You”.

He also directed episodes of “”, “Coach” and more than 50 episodes of various sitcoms.

At the he directed last summer’s production of MY FAIR LADY starring and Roger Daltry, and the summer before he directed the Bowl’s production of THE MUSIC MAN with Eric McCormack and Kristen Chenowith. He is currently in preproduction for the Bowl’s new production of MAME. For Reprise he directed SHE LOVES ME (5 Ovation Award nominations), and 1776.

His production of STAND UP OPERA starring B.J. Ward is currently on tour and last year played the Adelaide Arts Festival.

In New York he directed BLACK WATER, an opera with libretto by Joyce Carol Oates, at Cooper Union, and the all star Noel Coward Centennial celebration at .

Off Broadway he directed SHMULNICK’S WALTZ by Alan Knee, with music by David Shire. For the past ten years he has directed the Taper Salon series, and also at the Taper he directed a musical adaptation of Stud Terkel’s THE GOOD WAR featuring Helen Hunt, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Michael Lembeck, Billy Barnes, and B.J. Ward.

He is the author of the best-selling theater book, HOW TO AUDITION, and as a lyricist, he wrote the award-winning song ERROL FLYNN with Amanda McBroom.

Master Class for actors

To be held Thursday evenings 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM at American National Academy for the Performing Arts 10944 Ventura Blvd Studio City, CA 91604

This will be a scene study class for professionals and advanced students.

Writers and Directors are also welcome.

The work will consist of scenes, monologues and exercises designed to enhance the acting and auditioning experience.

The emphasis will be on individuality, problem solving and the joy of acting and creating.
