This day was originally celebrated on May 13th Parish Office: ext. 3100 in honor all Martyrs, but was later changed to School Office: ext. 3108 November 1st, by Pope Gregory III, when he dedicated St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome in honor of After Hours Emergency: ext. 3200 all the Saints. To be assigned to a parish with a Catholic school is a very special job to get as a priest. At my former parish, Holy Rosary in St. Marys, Ohio, we had a little school which I took under my care, collaborating with the long-time principal, Lora Krugh, and working closely with the teachers and parents to provide an excellent educational and religious formation experience for the students. We went from an enrollment of 100 students when I began in 2012, to nearly 180 students when I left in 2020, including an autistic program to serve those in need in the community. I am very proud also to say that we had nearly 100% retention of teachers over the course of my last six straight years.

This I hope will demonstrate to parishioners my commitment to St. Susanna’s School, and my desire to serve our students and their families to the best of my ability. Our school is an integral part of our parish. All parishioners, whether or not they have kids attending the school, should feel a part of the school community, and vice versa. Mutual support will be the order of the day. There is no separation between church and school. I think I need to stress this point due to past relationships between the parish administration and the school. Let’s put behind us any ill will or lack of attention given to the school by the pastor and staff of the parish and concentrate our efforts at making the school better for all involved. JOIN THE ST. SUSANNA SCHOOL COMMUNITY! The first area of my attention will be to inject a new spiritual focus Information Night: Monday, November 9th at 7:00pm on the students and their families. One example would be to offer the 7th and 8th graders opportunities to go to Confession at St. Susanna School, as an extension of our parish, strives to embody school. I would love to get to know the kids by name and them being able to have a priest as a mentor and friend.

I have already been working closely with our principal, Mr. Albrinck, and will continue to support him in his work. The pastor of the parish is actually the head of the school. I will try to exercise my position in helping develop the vision and future outlook for the school, while backing up the principal in his day-to-day running of the school. We have discussed future goals and plans and see a bright future ahead.

I hope you will join me in my work at St. Susanna’s School with your prayers and your support. Thank you to the PTO and the Boosters, and any other group that supports our school, for your dedication and love of our kids and teachers. God bless your generosity and may you continue to be there for our school.
