1 SASKATOON NORTHWEST CONSTITUENCY BY-ELECTION 2010 CHAPTER 37 An Act respecting a By-election in the Constituency of Saskatoon Northwest (Assented to October 27, 2010) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows: Short title 1 This Act may be cited as The Saskatoon Northwest Constituency By-election Act. Gordon Wyant deemed elected 2 Notwithstanding any other Act, with respect to the by-election held in the constituency of Saskatoon Northwest on October 18, 2010 for the purpose of electing a member of the Legislative Assembly, Gordon Wyant is deemed to have been duly elected at that by-election. Duties respecting election to be performed 3 All things and proceedings that are required by The Election Act, 1996, The Controverted Elections Act or any other Act to be done or taken with respect to the by-election described in section 2 are to be done or taken in the same manner that they would have been done or taken, and when done or taken have the same effect that they would have had, as if this Act had not been passed. Powers and privileges preserved 4 All things and proceedings that are required by The Election Act, 1996, The Controverted Elections Act or any other Act that may be done or taken with respect to the by-election described in section 2 may be done or taken in the same manner that they might have been done or taken, and when done or taken have the same effect that they would have had, as if this Act had not been passed. Consequences if Gordon Wyant determined not to be duly elected 5 If, after all things or proceedings mentioned in section 3 have been done or taken or the time within which all things or proceedings mentioned in section 4 may be done or taken has expired, it appears that Gordon Wyant was not duly elected: (a) section 2 is repealed; and (b) Gordon Wyant ceases to be a member of the Legislative Assembly. R-20.5 CHAPTER R-20.5 An Act respecting Representation in the Legislative Assembly Short title 1 This Act may be cited as The Representation Act, 2013. Interpretation 2 In this Act: (a) “constituency” means a constituency established pursuant to section 4; (b) “northern constituency” means a constituency north of the dividing line described in The Constituency Boundaries Act, 1993; (c) “southern constituency” means a constituency south of the dividing line described in The Constituency Boundaries Act, 1993. 2013, c.R-20.5, s.2. Composition of Legislative Assembly 3 In accordance with The Constituency Boundaries Act, 1993, the Legislative Assembly is to consist of 61 members to be elected to represent constituencies.
