The excellent resulting wines were named Porta Palo, after a charming harbour near to the vineyard. Returning a year later, Olly and Settesoli vineyards blended the 2010 vintage P&O Cruises Porta Palo wines and at the 2011 International Wine and Spirit competition, our red wine won a silver award and our rosé a bronze. The Settesoli vineyard is one of Sicily’s largest wine producers and boasts Europe’s largest vineyard - with 5,700 hectres in one region. This is where the Italian native grape of Nero d’Avola is grown, alongside varieties of Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Fiano.
