Directions for Caze d'en Roque Jalaire 66300 CAIXAS Tel: 0468 388 128 From FOURQUES: In the village, immediately opposite the Pharmacy, turn to Montauriol, Caixas (D2). Continue on the D2 to Caixas, the road begins to climb through vineyards, passing through the village of Montauriol. Continue on the D2 passing next through the hamlet of Les Hostalets. In Les Hostalets, there is a sharp right and then left hand bend between houses. Leaving Les Hostalets, the road crosses a bridge and bends to the right, signposted Caixas. Continue on the D2 for about 3 kms, but the road is windy and this takes a while. Immediately after a left turn to the hamlet of Veinat Joan Père, the D2 forks, the main road bends to the left. Take the right fork, there are house signs – Mas Marmite, Mas Gamba etc. (If you reach a sign to the “Mairie” you have gone too far.) Follow this road for about 750m, passing Mas Gamba on your right. Immediately before Mas Marmite, turn right on to our chemin de terre. By our post box, you will see the house name, Caze d'en Roque Jalaire. The chemin de terre is a bit bendy and bumpy, but after another 750m, ends in front of our house. From Perpignan South side: Take the D900 (former N9), passing Pollestres, and take the right turn to Trouillas (D612). Approaching Trouillas, turn left through the village signposted Fourques. In the village continue to follow the Fourques signs, crossing a roundabout with the school on the corner, and passing the cemetery on your left. Just before Fourques you come to a T-junction. Turn left into Fourques, follow the directions above. From Le Boulou: Take the D 900 (former N9) direction Perpignan. Continue on the D900 passing signs to Village Catalan and Tresserre, at the next roundabout turn left to Villemolaque, Fourques. Follow the signs to Fourques, through Villemolaque, turning left over a bridge just past the boulangerie. Continue on this road passing through Monastir del Camp, minding the dog who habitually lies in the road!, and turn right just after the village to Fourques. On reaching Fourques at a T-junction, (cave on your right) turn left and follow the directions from Fourques above. From Céret: Either − go to Le Boulou and follow directions from Le Boulou above; Or − on leaving Céret, turn left on the D615 to Llauro. Continue through Llauro until reachinjg Fourques, follow directions from Fourques above EXCEPT that the Pharmacie will be on your right and you should turn left immediately opposite (nor should you pass La Poste or the Foyer!). From Prades: Either − go to Thuir and pick up the directions from “A9 autoroute” below”; − go to Perpignan and pick up the direction from “Perpignan South side” above; Or - for the scenic route, turn right to Bouleternère, passing through the village, turn left towards Corbère and St Michel-de-Llotes. Turn right into St Michel then left in the village to Caixas. This is the D2. Follow this through Fontcouverte. You will pass the sign to Veinat d'en Llense on your left and then see a left sign to “Mairie”. Do not turn left here!!! Continue on the D2 until you see on your left the main village poubelle with flower tubs and a bottle bank. Here turn sharply left, effectively back on yourself, following house-signs to Mas Marmite, Mas Gamba etc. Follow this road for about 750m, passing Mas Gamba on your right. Immediately before Mas Marmite, turn right on to our chemin de terre. By our post box, you will see the house name, Caze d'en Roque Jalaire. The chemin de terre is a bit bendy and bumpy, but after another 750m, ends in front of our house. From the A9 autoroute: Leave the A9 at Perpignan Sud junction 42 (signposted Thuir, Grand St Charles etc.). Immediately after the toll booth, there is a large roundabout. Turn left to Thuir, Toulouges. At the next roundabout, turn left to Thuir (pronounced Tweer.) Follow this road (D612A) for about 10km until you reach Thuir. At the first roundabout in the town (with an archway opposite you and the legend “Thuir Porte de l'Aspre”) turn left to Elne, Le Boulou. After crossing a number of roundabouts and passing Lidl on your right and Champion on your left, you will leave Thuir and enter Llupia. At the roundabout, turn right, to “Llupia centre”, Terrats, Fourques, Llauro. Follow this road (D615). Continue through the village of Terrats (large wine cave on your right), there is a sharp left turn in the village to Fourques, Céret. Continue on D615 to Fourques. Follow the directions from Fourques above..
