A lady about 8 months pregnant got on a bus.

She noticed the man opposite her was smiling at her.

She immediately moved to another seat.

This time the smile turned into a grin, so she moved again.

The man seemed more amused.

When on the fourth move, the man burst out laughing,

She complained to the driver and he had the man arrested.

The case came up in court.

The judge asked the man (about 20 years old)

What he had to say for himself.

The man replied, 'Well your Honor, it was like this:

When the lady got on the bus, I couldn't help but notice her condition. She sat down under a sign that said, 'The Double Mint Twins are coming' and I grinned.

Then she moved and sat under a sign that said, ' Logan 's Liniment will reduce the swelling,' and I had to smile.

Then she placed herself under a deodorant sign that said,

'William's Big Stick Did the Trick,' and I could hardly contain myself.

But, Your Honor, when she moved the fourth time and sat under a sign that said, 'Goodyear Rubber could have prevented this Accident!'... I just lost it.'

'CASE DISMISSED!!' *******Urgently wanted for ******* Kurow Market Day January 1st 2020

The board of directors, staff and project team of Kurow-Duntroon Irrigation Company would like to wish the community a happy festive season.

2019 has been a full-on year of pipeline construction, road crossings and traffic management. Thank you all for your ongoing patience during this phase. We are hopeful that the siphon at Waitaki dam will be commissioned before Christmas. This is a major milestone for the project. 2020 will see the completion of this project.

Fish screen installed on the abutment wall of Waitaki dam.

This is lowered into the water, and sits in front of the siphon, and stops fish being sucked into the irrigation pipeline.

Hello and Seasons Greetings from us- Steve And Sharon Hartendorf. We are S&S Property Care, a new business to the area and a new business to us.

We have recently moved to Kurow and we are very happy to be here. What a unbeatable beautiful place this is we now live in. We have come from Cromwell where we have been running our own business for the last couple of years and previously we were in Christchurch running our own business for over twenty years so we make a pretty good team working together.

What we would offer with S&S Property Care is just what the name says - we will take care to clear, tidy, mow and maintain your sections and we also can do house cleaning inside and outside. We are reliable, fast and efficient. Just give us a call to come and see you, no obligation, we can have a chat about what you would like, it might be a one off, a tidy up or a regular maintain. We have already had local support and through this we have meet some great people - thank you to them for the opportunity.

Take the worry away about your property call us today!

Keep safe on the roads Kurow Trails Report:

Kurow Wetland The recent winds have seen a few trees brought down across the trail. They have been cleared and an arborist was called in to remove the remaining potentially dangerous limbs. Our Monday night weeding sessions have helped to give the natives that have been planted a fresh lease of life. The plan is to work on both entrances to the trail with planting and weeding and slowly work inwards along the trail. A recent visit by DOC reassures us our trail group is on the ‘right track’.

Kurow Hill The map sign at the top of the hill has been taken down for some repair work. Will let you know when it is back up again. Meanwhile enjoy those magnificent views from the Hill.

Kurow Trails Group Karen Turner 021 1908875 ; Rosina Russell and Alistair Emslie.

An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house and, after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen.

The two husbands were talking, and one said, 'Last night we went out to this new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.'

The other man said, 'What's the name of the restaurant?'

The first man thought and thought and finally said, 'What’s the name of that flower you give to someone you love?

You know, the one that's red and has thorns.' 'Do you mean a rose?'

'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man.

He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, 'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?'

River-T Vine News

Shoot thinning is over ; all the vines and shoots are now growing straight up in between wires and the plants are now above head height. Rapid growth in last few weeks. Jobs now are clipping the wires together so the shoots growing up don’t move around much and we will now start removing laterals. If you grow tomatoes then same principle. We remove the laterals as we want the energy to be going into the grape branches not side shoots. Our Gewurztraminer out the front of the property by the main road is currently having its main cane trained . We are laying the cane along the wire The big news for our cellar door is we are opening 9am – 9pm December 27th onwards everyday till mid January. We are closed xmas day only.

The biggest gift you can give to a person is your time - if you can pop in, make a phone call, send a text to someone in the community: it does make a difference
