MUNICIPAL ADMINISTRATION AND WATER SUPPLY (MA.II) DEPARTMENT G.O.(D).No. 407 Dated: 31.08.2007 Read: From Commissioner of Municipal Administration letter Roc.No.14582/2007/P3, dated 30.06.2007. ***** ORDER: In the letter read above, the Commissioner of Municipal Administration has sent a proposal for administrative sanction of the Government for Maduravoyal Municipality Improvement of Water Supply Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs.23.30 crores. 2. In the State Level Steering Committee meeting of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission – Urban Infrastructure and Governance held on 14.06.2007 under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development and Local Administration, has approved the project and the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) of the Sub-mission on urban Infrastructure and Governance under JnNURM held on 20.07.2007 at New Delhi has approved the Comprehensive Water Supply Scheme to Maduravoyal Municipality at an estimated cost of Rs.23.30 crores. 1. The Commissioner of Municipal Administration has submitted the project for the Water Supply Improvement Scheme of Maduravoyal Municipality as follows: Project Cost: As per 2007-08 schedule of rates (Rs. in crores) 1 Over head r eservoirs 5 Nos. 3.90 2 Distribution lines in five zones 13.87 3 Installation of pumping machineries 0.82 4 Extension of existing pump houses 0.09 5 Miscellaneous 3.94 Base Cost 22.62 Centage for items 1 to 4 @ 3% 0.68 Grand Total 23.30 Total Project Cost Rs.23.30 crores Annual Maintenance Cost Rs.36.53 lakhs Per capita cost (Base year) Rs.3.883/- Cost per connection Rs.14,570/- He has also stated that the implementing agency would be Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Necessary memorandum of agreement will be signed between CMWSS Board and ULB for proper implementation of the project. The implementation of the scheme will be as per JNNURM norms. The Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee has approved the proposal. 4. The Commissioner of Municipal Administration has therefore requested the administrative sanction for the improvement of Water Supply Scheme to Maduravoyal Municipality at an estimated cost of Rs.23.30 crores to install and Rs.36.53 lakhs to maintain annually posed under JNNURM. 5. The Government after careful examination accord administrative approval for the Improvement of Water Supply Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs.23.30 crores (Rupees twenty three crores and thirty lakhs only) to Maduravoyal Municipality.
