Troiker 042010 Eng 1
[EDITORIAL] Dear Troikers, In this issue of The Troiker we tried to look into the future, but we quickly decided not to get carried away, however tempting this may be. The future is ever-changing, dependant upon the roads we take today and the decisions we make right now. Behrad Khamesee, inventor of microscopic robots, spends his days doing his work, hardly preoccupied with the thought that ten years from now these robots will perform surgery at the cellular level. His life is here and now, enraptured with his invention and giving it his all. Ukranian inventor Igor Pasternak is busy working on a hybrid airplane and blimp. He may have the occasional reverie that his ‘flying mansion’ will one day become the most popular mode of transport, but he spends most of his time making this wonder a reality. Behind every new discovery stands a person enraptured by their idea taking pleasure in realizing it. This issue of our magazine isn’t just about the future, but the people who create it. The key interviews in this issue cover Troika’s strategy and development prospects. The ‘Profession’ column reveals the myths and reality of the work of compliance officers. The ‘Team’ section is about the magicians in the IT Department. Read, dare, create! Interactive Multimedia Solutions Developed for the Opening of the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre Nikolay Borisov, Artem Smolin, Denis Stolyarov, Pavel Shcherbakov St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, Saint Petersburg State University Abstract. This paper focuses on teamwork by the National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (NRU ITMO) and the Aleksandrinsky Theatre in preparation of opening of the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. The Russian State Pushkin Academy Drama Theatre, also known as the Alexandrinsky Theatre, is the oldest national theatre in Rus- sia. Many famous Russian actors performed on the Alexandrinsky’s stage and many great directors. May 2013 marked the opening of the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. The theatre complex comprises three buildings: the new stages building, a media center, and the building housing a center of theatre ed- ucation. Several plays shown simultaneously on multiple stages within the new complex’s buildings constituted the opening gala of the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. The works of Fyodor Dostoyevsky were the plays’ uni- fying theme. NRU ITMO employees developed several interactive theatre pro- ject solutions implemented for the opening of the Alexandrinsky Theatre’s New Stage. Keywords: Theatre, Multimedia, Information Technologies, NRU ITMO, SPbGU 1 Introduction The Russian State Pushkin Academy Drama Theatre, also known as the Alexandrinsky Theatre, is the oldest national theatre in Russia. It was founded in 1756 by the Senate’s decree. The history of the Alexandrinsky Theatre is closely linked to some of the most prominent exponents of Russian culture. -

Trauma and Memory: an Artist in Turmoil
TRAUMA AND MEMORY: AN ARTIST IN TURMOIL By Angelos Koutsourakis Konrad Wolf’s Artist Films Der nackte Mann auf dem Sportplatz (The Naked Man on the Sports Field, 1973) is one of Konrad Wolf’s four artist films. Like Goya (1971), Solo Sunny (1978), and Busch singt (Busch Sings, 1982)—his six-part documentary about the German singer and actor Ernst Busch, The Naked Man on the Sports Field focuses on the relationship between art and power. In Goya, Wolf looks at the life of the renowned Spanish painter—who initially benefited from the protection of the Spanish king and the Catholic church—in order to explore the role of the artist in society, as well as issues of artistic independence from political powers. In Solo Sunny, he describes a woman’s struggle for artistic expression and self-realization in a stultifying world that is tainted by patriarchal values; Sunny’s search is simultaneously a search for independence and a more fulfilling social role. Both films can Film Library • A 2017 DVD Release by the DEFA be understood as a camouflaged critique of the official and social pressures faced by East German artists. The Naked Man on the Sports Field can be seen this way as well, and simultaneously explores questions of trauma and memory. The film tells the story of Herbert Kemmel (played by Kurt Böwe), an artist uncomfortable with the dominant understanding of art in his country. Kemmel is a sculptor in turmoil, insofar as he seems to feel alienated from his social environment, in which people do not understand his artistic works. -

O humor é fruto do encarar o mundo.” -
Stilyagi (Crnnrrn) Review - ESCAPE from HOLLYWOOD I the International Cinema Addict's Definitive Resource 814ILL 4:T2 PM
Stilyagi (Crnnrrn) Review - ESCAPE from HOLLYWOOD I the international cinema addict's definitive resource 814ILL 4:T2 PM Stilyagi (Crnilntlt) Review Published May 151h,2009 in Europe & Russia and Reviews. 4 Comments Musical comedy is hardly a genre most people would associate with modern Russian cinema. Traditionally known and respected for such somber and inquisitive works as Nikita Mikhalkov's Burnt by the Sun (1994), Andrei Zvyagintsev's The Return (2001), and Aleksei Balabanov's Cargo 200 (2OO7), post-Soviet Russian directors had generally focused on negative aspects of the Russian experience until the early 2000s, when waves of cash flowing from the country's oil and gas-fueled economic boom finally reached the film industry, resulting in the production of commercially-oriented blockbusters such as Night Watch (2OO4) and The 9th Company (2OO5). Continuing this trend and taking it in a new direction is Valeriy Todorovskiy's new frlm Stilyagi (Hipsters). Featuring an all-star cast, dynamic script and slick cinematography, Stilyagi takes the viewer on an epic joy ride through 1955 Moscow, two years after Stalin's death. At the height of the Cold War in the Soviet Union, the titular stilyagi were a bunch of Western-oriented hipsters who loved jazz, exhibited questionable morals and enjoyed dressing with style. Mels (Anton Shagin), a seemingly brainwashed member of the Communist youth group Komsomol, falls in love with Polza (Oksana Akinshina) while raiding an illegal underground nightclub . Polza invites Mels to join her and her friends on the "Broadway" and Mels is dumbfounded when he shows up to the party dressed plainly and looking apologetic. -
