27Brockenhurst to Lymington Brockenhurst to 27 Lymington Southampton Central Brockenhurst Lymington Town Lymington Pier Ferry Bournemouth Yarmouth (Isle of Wight) Train times 16 May to 11 September 2021 May 2021 DL covers.indd 27 08/04/2021 10:38:12 Your timetable This timetable shows train services between Brockenhurst, Lymington Town and Lymington Pier with connecting services to and from London Waterloo and Bournemouth. For the complete service between Brockenhurst and stations to Southampton Central and London Waterloo, also stations to Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth, please see timetable 28. Buy a ticket before you board You need to buy a valid ticket before you get on your train. We know that most of our passengers do this before travelling, and we have a duty to those passengers to make sure no-one travels without paying. This is why we run a penalty fares scheme across most of our network. If you travel without a valid ticket to or from a station within the penalty fares area, you may have to pay a penalty fare of £20 or twice the single fare to the next station your train stops at (whichever is higher). You will also have to buy a ticket for the rest of your journey. We have a policy to, wherever possible, prosecute everyone who deliberately avoids paying. Travel with Confidence If you are travelling with us, please continue to follow the Government’s advice by maintaining social distancing, where possible, and wearing a face covering at our stations and on our trains, unless exempt. For more information about how we’re keeping you safe, and how you can protect yourself and others when travelling visit: southwesternrailway.com/coronavirus Cycles on trains The services in this timetable have limited room for cycles, so we have had to apply some restrictions. The y symbol, with train times printed in blue, shows which trains have restrictions. These restrictions are explained in the ‘Guide to notes and symbols’ section. We will carry folding cycles on any train, as long as they can be folded small enough to be carried safely in the luggage rack. Cycles are not allowed on buses that replace trains during engineering work. Automated Delay Repay We have introduced a new Automated Delay Repay (ADR) system that drastically cuts the time it takes to claim and receive compensation if your train is late. ADR works for all customers who have bought Advance tickets or a Touch Smartcard season ticket from our website. If you have a Touch Smartcard season ticket, you will need to touch in and out at the beginning and end of your journey, sign up for a Delay Repay account at delayrepay.southwesternrailway.com and select ‘Auto Delay Repay’. (The email addresses you use for ‘My Account’ and ‘Delay Repay’ must match.) To find out more about Automated Delay Repay, visit: southwesternrailway.com/contact-and-help/refunds-and- compensation/delay-repay/automated-delay-repay. Changes to train times Network Rail need to do engineering work to maintain and improve the rail network. They do a lot of this work at weekends and during holiday periods, but they also need to do some work overnight during the week. If we need to close rail lines so Network Rail can carry out work, buses will replace train services. We may also have to alter train services over a wider area. Please check for any changes to train times before travelling at weekends, late in the evening or early in the morning. Look for the ‘Changes to train times’ posters at stations, or visit our website at southwesternrailway.com. No-smoking policy For the comfort of all our customers, smoking and using e-cigarettes is not allowed on any part of our trains or stations. You can smoke outside the station entrance or in our car parks. South Western Railway and Community Rail Partnerships We are committed to working with Community Rail Partnerships (CRPs) across our network. CRPs are not-for-profit organisations that help to further connect the railway with the communities they serve. They work closely with SWR to promote healthy and sustainable travel, design projects which bring communities together, as well as support social and economic development. SWR is proud to provide core funding and support to 12 CRPs on our network. Lymington-Brockenhurst Community Rail Partnership The CRP was launched in July 2008 and over the years the partnership has worked hard to help people discover, and explore, attractions from the New Forest and Lymington, as well as connections on to the Isle of Wight. • The Streams of the New Forest: a Study in Drainage Evolution
240 HAMPSHIRE FIELD CLUB THE STREAMS OF THE NEW FOREST: A STUDY IN DRAINAGE EVOLUTION By C. E. EVERARD, M.SC. Introduction. HE area to be discussed in this paper is somewhat larger than that ordinarily known as the New Forest. It extends from Tthe Solent northwards to the River Blackwater, and from the Avon eastwards to Southampton Water. The superficial gravel deposits of the New Forest have been the subject of much detailed morphological analysis in recent years {1, 2, 4, 5), and it has been shown that two ' flights' of gravel terraces exist (Figure 2), the larger descending southwards from. the summit area of Black Bush Plain (420ft. O.D.) towards the Solent, and the other flanking the Avon valley. These terraces mark the main pauses in the uplift of the area from its low level in the late Pliocene and since that time the landforms and drainage pattern have been evolving concurrently, under the influence of the intermittently-falling base-level. The gravel-terrace stages make it possible to trace the former courses of the Rivers Avon and ' Solent n across the New Forest and also the shore-lines of the estuaries which partly replaced them in the southern part of the area. The present New Forest streams are the much modified descendants of the tributaries of these major drainage channels. * The tributaries were, in many cases, too small to produce terraces, but two lines of evidence may be followed in attempting to re construct their former courses. Firstly, the development of the tributaries is intimately connected with that of the major arteries, and much is already known about the evolution of the latter.

BRAMSHAW TELEGRAPH NOVEMBER 2019 NEWS DRAGONS TEETH As a result of verges suffering from overrun, Forestry England will commence work in October/November to remove old rotten or no longer serviceable dragon’s teeth and will be installing new ones closer to the road edge. List of locations (and maps) were sent out with October’s edition of the Bramshaw Telegraph. They can also be found here and here #Add3Minutes Drivers are being urged to just #Add3Minutes as the nights draw in to make journeys safer. When the clocks change in October, and people have to drive home in the dark, there is a much higher risk of hitting one of the free-roaming animals. 56 animals were killed on New Forest roads in 2017 63 animals were killed on New Forest roads in 2018 Most of the accidents are caused by local people on regular trips, on four main routes: • Lymington – Beaulieu – Dibden Purlieu • Brockenhurst – Sway • Burley – Picket Post • Cadnam – Godshill Sue Westwood, Clerk to the Verderers said “Driver should be aware that they are very likely to encounter animals on the Forest’s roads, day and night. Animals don’t have road sense so please help avoid accidents by driving slowly and carefully.” Failing to report an accident with a commoner’s animal can lead to prosecution. The Verderers offer a reward of up to £5,000 payable to anyone providing information which leads to the successful prosecution of a driver responsible for a hit and run accident. BOOKS ON BRAMSHAW AND THE NEW FOREST Many residents will remember Jack Sturgess who kindly donated a collection of books to the Parish Council.

Hythe and Dibden Neighbourhood Plan ‘Our Neighbourhood, Our Future’ HYTHE AND DIBDEN NEIGHBOURHOOD DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2018 - 2026 Hythe & Dibden Neighbourhood Development Plan IMPORTANT NOTE - ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTS The Hythe and Dibden Neighbourhood Development Plan should be read in conjunction with the following additional documents: Statutory supporting documents • Basic Conditions Statement • Consultation Statement • Evidence base and documentary sources [NB References to evidence and sources shown thus (ref 5.1) in the text of the Plan] Non-statutory accompanying documents (which do not form part of the statutory ‘Neighbourhood Plan’) • Community aspirations not included in the Hythe and Dibden Neighbourhood Plan • Strategic Environmental Assessment (voluntary submission) 2 Hythe & Dibden Neighbourhood Development Plan Foreword This Neighbourhood Development Plan has been written in response to concerns within the community that the Parish of Hythe and Dibden is not preparing itself for the development the community needs in order to remain vibrant and sustainable. The Neighbourhood Plan is a progression from the RevitalHythe Action Plan that was published in 2008. It is anticipated that the Neighbourhood Plan will lead to other follow-on work such as Local Distinctiveness design guidance, Village Design Statements and Sustainable Transport initiatives. The response from the public for this plan has been excellent and the Hythe and Dibden Neighbourhood Planning Group has endeavoured to capture all feedback as evidence to support policies in the Plan that satisfy required planning tests and are legally enforceable. The people that live in the four communities of Hythe, Dibden, Dibden Purlieu and Butts Ash that make up the Parish of Hythe and Dibden are passionate about their Village and the rural surrounds and want to retain the inherent charm, character, vitality and setting whilst accepting some development will be needed to accomplish this.

  • (DWMP) New Forest Catchment
Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP) New Forest Catchment 1 Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans New Forest Catchment - DRAFT Strategic Context for the New Forest DWMP The Environment Agency has previously defined the River Basin District catchments in their River Basin Management Plans prepared in response to the European Union’s Water Framework Directive. These river basin catchments are based on the natural configuration of bodies of water (rivers, estuaries, lakes etc.) within a geographical area, and relate to the natural watershed of the main rivers. We are using the same catchment boundaries for our Level 2 DWMPs. A map of the New Forest river basin catchment is shown in figure 1. Crown copyright Southern Water Services Limited 1000019426 2 Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans New Forest Catchment - DRAFT Overview of the New Forest catchment The New Forest catchment in Hampshire covers a geographical area of around 300 km2, the majority of which is forested common land located within the New Forest National Park boundary. The catchment is essentially rural but there is significant industrial development located to the east, along Southampton Water. The catchment includes a number of small towns including New Milton, Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, and Lymington, and four sizeable villages: Ashurst, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, and Sway. Outside of The Forest are clusters of larger urban areas including Totton, Marchwood, Dibden, Hythe and Fawley to the east, and New Milton, Milford on Sea, and Lymington to the south-west.
