RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES TYPE OF RECRUITMENT INITIATIVE BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY (MENU SELECTION) 1 Sponsored event in the community The SEU sponsored the 2015 Home & Garden designed to inform and educate members Show held at the CSI Expo Center in Twin Falls, of the public ID February 20-22. The General Manager and Events Specialist coordinated the show and rented booth spaces to exhibitors from surrounding states. The SEU also manned a booth at the show where the operations manager, program directors, production director and news director distributed applications and answered questions from the over 10,000 visitors to the show. 2 Participate in Events Sponsored by The SEU participated in the 2015 Southern Idaho Local Organizations Career & Job Expo sponsored by the Times News & held at the Canyon Crest Event Center on April 8, 2015. The General Manager & Traffic Coordinator manned a booth at the fair and spoke with attendees about jobs & internships in radio broadcasting and job opportunities at the SEU. Available Job Openings were posted in our booth. Employment applications and internship forms were available and distributed. 3 Establish an Internship Program The SEU was contacted by a student from Canyon Ridge High School requesting to intern with us for their Senior Class Project. The student interned/job shadowed for a total of 40 hours during August 2014 – April 2015 with Brad Hollstrom, Operations Manager & other various department heads for the SEU. The Student was allowed to observe day-to-day operations as well as participate in some activities in the form of on- air interviews. The student shadowed our Production Director observing the various aspects of Production. The student also wrote a Classic Rock Blog post for KSNQ-FM The Snake. The Student also shadowed our Digital Managing Editor observing the aspects of his job digitally in the radio industry. The student was encouraged to ask questions in broad terms and questions specific to our operation. The student learned about the various types of job opportunities within the company and what types of skills we look for in our applicants. As part of the internship Canyon Ridge High School required the student to compose a paper about our industry and give a speech to his teachers as his final project. The SEU was contacted by a student from Canyon Ridge High School requesting to intern with us for their Senior Class Project. The student interned/job shadowed for a few hours per week at various times at our studios during the months of June 2014 – April 2015 with Brad Hollstrom, Operations Manager & other various department heads for the SEU. The SEU was contacted by the Director of Education for Junior Achievement of Idaho out of Boise, ID to have a student from Kimberly High School Job Shadow with our Sales Manager & Operations Manager on May 13, 2015 from 9am- 11am. The student is interested in a career in broadcasting. The student shadowed our Sales Manager learning about the various radio and digital sales opportunities we have available to sell to clients on a daily basis along with a brief description of the products available and how they are able to benefit the client’s business. The student also shadowed our Operations Manager learning about the various aspects of radio and digital operations from an on-air and technical perspective. The student was encouraged to ask both general and specific to each department and/or our industry. .
