Catawba College Lacrosse 2009 Catawba College Lacrosse 2009 Catawba Lacrosse Seniors THIS IS CATAWBA COLLEGE atawba College was founded in Newton, CNorth Carolina in 1851 by the German Reformed Church. In 1890, Catawba became a coeducational institution, with the first woman graduate completing her studies in 1893. Officials closed the Newton cam- pus in 1923 and moved to its present loca- tion in Salisbury, re-opening in 1925. In 1957, the Evangelical and Reformed Church merged to form the United Church of Christ, with which the College maintains affiliation. Chemistry Catawba seeks to serve the Salisbury-Rowan County community through its programs and Chemistry Education services. The Roberston College-Community Communication Arts Center, a facility built as a joint venture with the Comprehensive Science Education community over 35 years ago, houses the Shuford School of Performing Arts and show- Education cases musical and theatre productions from the English college and the community. Almost all of the buildings on campus have undergone renovations in the Bachelor of Science recent past and two new buildings, the Catawba Athletic Training College Center for the Environment and the Biology Catawba Sports Center are now completed. Physical Education MAJORS OFFERED Recreation Bachelor of Arts Theatre Arts Administration Biology Therapeutic Recreation PETER BOURQUE Head Coach Peter Bourque is in his 16th season as the head coach of the Catawba lacrosse program. He arrived in June 1993 to build the pro- gram from its inception. Along with his coaching duties, Bourque also serves as an Assistant Athletic Director at Catawba. In 2007, Catawba earned a share of the Deep South Conference title. In 2005, the Indians advanced to the DSC Tournament final for the second straight season and posted a school record with ten wins for a season in 2004. Bourque has been rewarded for his efforts by being named the Deep South Conference Coach of the Year in both 2000 and 2003. In 1999, Bourque was selected to coach in the prestigious USILA North-South All-Star game in Saratoga Springs, NY. He graduated from Guilford College in 1988, where he earned a BS in Sports Management. While at Guilford, Bourque was a four-year athlete, and received the Neuris-English Athletic Leadership Award, recognizing him as one of the outstanding athletes at the school. In 1992, Bourque went on to receive his M.Ed. in School Administration from Lynchburg College, in Virginia, where he was a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Education Honor Society. Bourque was born in Springfield, MA, but was reared in Westfield, NJ. He graduated from Westfield High School and The Gunnery Prep School in Washington, CT. Bourque carries with him much experience, having coached at Greensboro College, Lynchburg College, M.I.T Cambridge, MA, and Guilford. In the summer, Bourque serves as a director for the successful Dixie Top 150 lacrosse camps. During his tenure at Catawba, Bourque is proud to have coached 28 All-Deep South Conference performers. He has also coached six All- Americans and one Academic All-American, the USILA’s top award. Bourque has served on several NCAA Division II lacrosse commit- tees and currently holds the post as Division II Regional Director for All- American Selection Committee. Bourque and his wife, Ann, reside in Salisbury. They have three children; Kathlenn Isabel (12), Brendan Peter (11) and Molly Ann (9). ADAM LENT Assistant Coach Adam Lent begins his second season as an assistant coach with the Catawba lacrosse team. He came to Catawba after lettering for four years at Stony Brook University. Lent graduated from Stoney Brook in 2007 with a degree in History. While at Stony Brook, Lent played on defense and as a long stick mid- fielder. He helped the Seawolves into the USILA top 20 poll over three sea- sons, including a high of No.14. He helped Smithtown High School to the 2003 Suffolk County Championship. Lent has been a youth lacrosse coach for seven years in Smithtown and was a volunteer at Great Hollow Middle School. He is the director of the Smithtown Recreation Department’s lacrosse camp and of the Lights Out Lacrosse camps and clinics.     NC WEEK 4B (Charlotte-Concord Week) – Anson, Cabarrus, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Stanly, & Union Counties – October 03 – 09, 2021 CACRAO CODE OF ETHICS The purpose of an Educational Opportunity Program is to provide a chance for high school students, particularly juniors and seniors, to be exposed to many different educational opportunities and to explore specific interests. The following Code of Ethics is designed to allow for equal opportunity for students to access information and for institutions to present it. 1. It is the responsibility of each college or university to inform any person who represents that institution of the CACRAO Code of Ethics which will be in effect at all CACRAO-sponsored Programs. Each institutional representative must respect the rights of other institutions. • One official representative is considered adequate at most Educational Opportunity Programs. If more than one representative is needed, those present must confine all activities to the assigned space. • Representatives should arrive in enough time to the fair in order to staff their booth during advertised fair hours and remain for the entire program. A program concludes when the posted end time occurs or if the fair coordinator calls the end to a fair early. CACRAO and/or the college fair host may follow up with the leadership of an institution should a representative be absent without notification. Representatives must notify the host contact or Scheduling Committee member who organized the week should they be unable to attend. • Dress to best represent your institution. • Representatives should limit use of mobile devices to fair-related purposes. Earbuds should be stored for the duration of the Ed‐Op Program.
