You should expect to hear much more about this trio worry. The current crop of BC based lacrosse players in the US collegiate system in the coming years. is the largest in history and has far more depth and breadth than ever before. So Division II lacrosse has more than its fair share of BC stars, but in this division what do these latter comments mean specifically? the defensive and offensive star power is more evenly balanced.     2009 Catawba College Lacrosse 2009 Catawba Lacrosse Seniors THIS IS CATAWBA COLLEGE atawba College was founded in Newton, CNorth Carolina in 1851 by the German Reformed Church. In 1890, Catawba became a coeducational institution, with the first woman graduate completing her studies in 1893. Officials closed the Newton cam- pus in 1923 and moved to its present loca- tion in Salisbury, re-opening in 1925. In 1957, the Evangelical and Reformed Church merged to form the United Church of Christ, with which the College maintains affiliation. Chemistry Catawba seeks to serve the Salisbury-Rowan County community through its programs and Chemistry Education services. The Roberston College-Community Communication Arts Center, a facility built as a joint venture with the Comprehensive Science Education community over 35 years ago, houses the Shuford School of Performing Arts and show- Education cases musical and theatre productions from the English college and the community.     Smiles come easy on Student wants to help his Graduation Day hometown - pages 12 & 13 Summer 2006 / Volume 28, Number 2 - page 24 NCAA makes decision on “CATAWBA INDIANS” On Tuesday morning, May 30, Catawba College received official notification that the NCAA "Staff Review Committee" has approved the use of the name "Catawba Indians" by Catawba College for its athletic teams. See CATAWBA INDIANS, page 10 Graduate wins John Lennon Award Two trustees One of Catawba College's 2006 graduates, Dennis Reed of Charlotte, is the first place win- ner of the BMI Foundation's 9th Annual John honored with Lennon Scholarship Awards. The 21-year-old music business major shared the stage with Lil prestigious Jon, Maroon 5, and others in a May 16th cere- mony in Los Angeles. BMI Foundation President Ralph N. Adrian Shuford Jackson made the announcement about the win- ners of the 9th Annual John Lennon Award Scholarships, a program that recognizes the best and brightest young songwriters between the Two Catawba College Trustees were ages of 15 and 24. This year's winners include honored Wednesday, May 17 at Catawba 21-year-old Reed, who received first place hon- College as the recipients of the presti- ors and a $10,000 scholarship for his song, "Out gious Adrian L.
