Just three weeks before his death, Russ Berrie, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Russ Berrie and Company, Inc., committed $6.2 million to establish the Institute, which is the first program of its kind in the Northeast. The Institute represents a unique partnership between the private sector and higher education. For Berrie, establishing the Institute was the fulfillment of his dream to advance the field of professional selling through education.
