Club together with the Lotus Center Prague announce: Burmese Buddhist monk and teacher

A S H I N T E J A N I Y A in the

Mindfulness meditation course (vipassana)

Nowadays , Ashin Tejaniya is one of the most sought after teachers of vipassana meditation in the world. His earlier life as a gives him a rare insight into the challenges faced by his lay students. His teaching style is modern and also very simple – with a gentle sense of humour and easily accessible to our western way of thinking. Many students from abroad (Europe, USA, etc.) come every year to his meditation center in , Burma. In the last couple of years, because of his duties he travelled abroad very rarely. (His last meditation course was in the USA in 2007 and it was booked in advance.) ASHIN TEJANIYA´S VISIT IN EUROPE IS THEREFORE VERY UNIQUE EVENT !

Ashin Tejaniya (alias U Tejaniya) began his Buddhist training as a young teenager in Burma under the late Shwe Oo Min Sayadaw (1913–2002). After a career in business and life as a householder, he has become a permanent monk since 1996. Sayadaw’s relaxed demeanor and easy sense of humor can belie a commitment to awareness he encourages his students to apply in every aspect of their lives. His book, “Don’t Look Down on the Defilements, They Will Laugh at You” , aptly characterizes his teaching style—accessible and true to the traditional teachings of the Buddha. The main features of this approach are watching and gradual relaxing of the body and mind, right attitude (i.e. state of mind), dealing with mental defilements and continuous . He teaches meditation at Shwe Oo Min Dhammasukha Tawya in Rangoon, Burma.

• The course is suitable for advanced students as well as beginners.
