Tours roll across the coun- try like mobile homes in a Florida hurricane. The most memo- rable for this magazine/bar owner were the Warped Tour and Wakestock, where such bands as Bad Religion, Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Closet Monster, The Trews and Crowned King had audiences in mosh-pit frenzies. At Wakestock, in Wasaga Beach, Ont., Gasoline, Fox Racing, and Bluenotes rocked so hard at their two-day private cottage party that local authorities shut down the stage after Magneta Lane and Flashlight Brown. Poor Moneen didn't get to crush the eardrums of the drunken revellers. That was day one! Day two was an even bigger party with the live music again shut down. The Reason, Moneen and Crowned King owned the patio until Alexisonfire and their crew rolled into party. Gasoline would also like to thank Chuck (see cover story) and other UN officials for making sure that the boys in Sum41 made it back to the Bovine for another cocktail, despite the nearby mortar and gunfire during their Warchild excursion. • Electric Boys Launch Pledgemusic Campaign for New Album
PRESS RELEASE December 21, 2017. For immediate release Electric Boys launch PledgeMusic campaign for new album Formed in Stockholm in 1988, The Electric Boys were born out of the active '80s Swedish rock scene which took its influences from the 60s psychedelia/ 70s hard rock, and fused it with a modern, big sounding production. Early on, the band achieved notable success on the Swedish charts before setting its sights on the rest of the world. In late 1989, the band entered Little Mountain Sound Studio (Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, David Lee Roth) to begin work on their debut album, Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride, with respected producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Bon Jovi, The Cult, Mötley Crüe). The critically acclaimed album spawned the Billboard Top 20 single, All Lips N' Hips, and quickly established the band as a force to be reckoned with. After months of solid touring in support of Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride the band reconvened in studio to record follow-up Groovus Maximus which gave the band another Billboard Top 30 single with the song, Mary In The Mystery World, and landed the band at #7 on the Official Swedish Charts. As the album's touring cycle got into full swing the band found the time to contribute a track to the ABBA: The Tribute record. In 1994, the band released Freewheelin' which peaked at #16 on the Official Swedish Album Chart, but would ultimately announce a Farewell show for later in the year in Stockholm. Guitarist singer, Conny Bloom, as well as bassist Andy Christell would go on to play in Hanoi Rocks featuring Michael Monroe.

  • The Wildhearts Sick of Drugs
Sick Of Drugs The Wildhearts Waking up with an eight point two And it seemed like the easiest thing to do When someone said: "Here's one for you!" Mouth's so dry that I just spit ash And a hole in my pocket full of wasted cash But it's all right, it was just back stash "Jump inside," he said, I tried "I never met a junkie that I didn't like" Said he and who am I to disagree? Oh how can you stay When you're sixty million miles away? How can you fly when you're free? And how can you feel When your mind's made up like a will of steel? How can you deal in your tree? Sick of Ecstasy Kicked in bad and you got too low To be down with-a company you don't know Said "Come on in, we got a right good blow" Yeah, talking, talking the whole world's clear Until a guy with a goatee got a touch of fear Which went 'round the room like diarrhoea Bored with this, I'm bored with that I'm stuck in bed alone with a you-know-what No rest with a heart beating out of your chest Oh how can you stay When you're sixty million miles away? How can you fly when you're free? And how can you feel When your mind's made up like a will of steel? How can you deal in your tree? Sick of LSD Oh how can you stay When you're sixty million miles away? How can you fly when you're free? And how can you feel When your mind's made up like a will of steel? • Rock Album Discography Last Up-Date: September 27Th, 2021
Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
